this is a common failure in this set it does have to do with the power supply but there is more this set shuts down the way it does for the reason of bad led strip. some of your led's are burnt up it has 2 rows one on each side of the tv. very hard part to find. and lots of work you have to take the screen completely apart

Sounds like a power board issue. Unfortunately this is a common problem in flat screen TVs. Typicality this happens after the tv is three years old or older. Some will last several years.
