Bushnell Voyager 78-9440 (440 x 12.5mm) Telescope Questions & Answers
Rack and Pinion
Yes you can -- several different telescope retailers sell focuser here is one:

You must buy the correct size that will fit your tube.
Value of Bushnell Voyager 789440
DO NOT buy any Bushnell, Tasco, Edu Scientific, or Galileo telescope-- these are all toy telescopes. We call them department store telescopes.
Look at this type of telescope as your first one: and you CANNOT buy a useable telescope for less than about $200. It's on craigslist or Ebay because some parent bought it for a child who used it two times and since it was not actually easily useable gave it up.

Upside down images
ALL astronomical telescopes show upside down images it is normal. Put the eyepiece with the LARGEST number written on it into the diagonal. Do NOT use the 2x barlow it is too much magnification for that small aperture telescope.

This is a very small refractor telescope. Here are all of the Bushnell manuals.

Here is the one for your scope:

Actually what you need to do is join a local astronomy club and learn how to use your telescope to FIND objects in the sky. The manual will not help you with this. However read my TIPS on my profile page.
I cant see anything in my telescope i never have
Shaky tripod is why you never buy this telescope brand.
Put the eyepice with the largest number written on it into the telescope. DO NOT use the 2xbarlow if you have one. Go outside duringg the daytime and practice focusing on a distant object.
I need an eye piece for a Bushnell AK-78-9440
Eyepieces are either .965 inch or 1.25 inch in size. Measure the hole. You can buy eyepieces from many on line astronomy shops. Here are two:

It's not worth replacing the focuser on that telescope-- here are replacement focusers of good quality -- notice the prices!

Viewing right side up
ALL astronomical telescopes are upside down--- no up or down in space!
You can buy an "erecting" diagonal which will invert the image for terrestrial viewing--

Problems with the ercecting lens
Did you put the eyepiece into the diagonal? ------- after you put the diagonal into the telescope. Erecting lens is a DIAGONAL by the way. "erecting diagonal"
Can't see anything through the lens?
Put the diagonal into the telescope-- then put the eyepiece that has the LARGEST number written on it. This is the lowest magnification. DO NOT USE THE BARLOW 2x multiplier !!
Take the scope outside during the day time and practice focusing on a distant object. The moon should be the first night time target you try to see.
Can't see anything through the lens?
You did take the lens cap off? During the day go outside and practice focusing on a distant object-- use the eyepiece with the LARGEST number written on it.

THE TWO EYEPIECE WON'T FIT THE THE PENTA MIRROR - VOYAGER
You most likely have eyepieces that have a 1.25" diameter but your telescope only accepts eyepieces with a .965" diameter. You can measure the diameter of the eyepiece barrel to confirm it.
There are two solutions to this problem. One is to purchase .965" eyepieces. They tend to be not as good of quality as 1.25" ones. However, you can find some here: http://www.siebertoptics.com/SiebertOptics-.965in-eyepieces.html#10mm%20and%2012.5mm.
The less expensive way is to get a 1.25" to .965" adapter. You can find one of those here: http://www.telescope.com/control/product/~category_id=adapters_and_cables/~pcategory=accessories/~product_id=07160/~sSearchSession=4fc6afc3-e9e5-4aa0-b55b-acc41db39d5a. If that link is too long go to www.telescope.com and look it up.
One thing to note when using an adapter is that sometimes it may not allow the eyepieces to come into focus since it adds a little length to the telescope. This varies by telescope.
Good luck!

Eyepieces not fitting into 90-degree penta mirror
Here's the link to the user manual if you need it;
http://www.bushnell.com/customer_service/manuals/telescopes/78-9440_Voyager.pdf
Check the bottom of page 3, I think it answers your question - eyepieces should insert directly into the penta mirror. check page 9 for a diagram showing the whole assembly.
If it turns out you have the wrong eyepieces, you can contact bushnell's spares department on;
http://www.bushnell.com/customer_service/partsinfo.cfm?section=General%20Use
Hope this helps, please ask again if you need more info :)
