You will see what it has already set when you come to that step next time around.- the mount should be leveled as far as possible, or pointing errors will appear when the scope slews around. It could be that the scope has no idea at all where the align star is, when using Earth Align. You are teaching it that, but if the rough location it tries to reach is way way off, it seems you need a second star and Align Star mode. Often with these devices you need one star from either side of the meridian.You could also start again with a different city, but one in the opposite direction to the first. I would try cities all around the compass to see if one gives a better result.

Most red dot finders use small watch style batteries. Look for something that slides out of the red dot finder and or a port in the side or the bottom.

Their is a battery door on the base of the telescope, looks like it takes a small square 9 volt battery.

They go into the FOCUSER.

It's usually a small watch style battery. Look around for a small compartment on the finder that holds the little battery.

It's written on the battery. Take the battery out. You can buy those small batteries at any Wal Mart.

Yes, first--- NEVER buy a TASCO or BUSHNELL telescope. Most of them are not suitable for Astronomy.

The cost of fixing this scope will exceed its value and is not economical to do.

Instead buy a Dobsonian mounted reflector like this one.

They are all different. Take the battery out and go to Radio Shack or Wal Mart and find a replacement. Most are the small "watch" style batteries.
