Green arches and now green flashes
If you see a neon light in the crt board and it lights up is because the green picture tube is arking inside, the light is supposed to do that and is why is there, the only way to correct the problem is by replacing the picture tube and it can be costly sometimes, there is another way but this will not take care of the problem for good,it might go away for a while but it might return,is hard to tell if it might work, what you need to do is lift the set from the ground about 3 inches and drop it,sometimes just by doing it once it works ,other times it takes more than once,do not over do it or something else might break,is an option you dont have to take and you still have the option to replace the tube.Let Us know how it goes or if you need more information.
Sony KP-57WV600 rear projection
sounds like bad CRT, some of these sonys have had defective CRT issues, usually all will come and go sooner or later (all 3 bad), you can pull the speaker grill off(either 2 1/4" screws on bottom or 6 1/4" on back sides) and pull off the Crt box cover (2'X3' piece) and lightly tap the CRT's with tv on, if they flare or get colored streaks in pix they are bad, CALL SONY 800 # and complain, also could adjust G2 (Screen control for color) for short patch. Will need new crts.
Protection screen
i elieve from what ican find the screen is held together the same as a car windshield(black stickyspoge adhesive) you may have to pull off!!.....or there may beaway from inside ...remove black backin off(only top section)look for screws to remove....you may have to remove screws as well as pull off
How to remove crt tube
I would not advise you to do any service to your tv if you are not experienced. there is high voltage in there and there is alignment procedures to do after installing the tube. It is best to order the original service manual they have a step by step replacement guides in them.
Tv protection screen
if you remove backing you can reach in and up if your small enuff and clean without taking it off but if you want to take i suggest getting another pair of hands or 2 and while their holding screen you take off screws directly behind screen
Speaker panel
The panel just pulls forward to expose the inner CRT cover. If youy have the faint blue lines that appear especially when there is an absence of video on the screen, the adjusting of the blue CRT control is a VERY temporary fix. It indicates the blue CRT is shorting out internally and that the red and green might not be too far behind. The bad news is 2 of the 3 CRT's are no longer available.
Sony Projection flashes Green once in a while
You have a bad picture tube, no way to sugar coat this one, Sony had issues with all 3 tubes in your model set, more bad news, that green tube is "no longer available" from Sony, tried to order one about 2 months ago for a customer of mine, only the red tube is still available. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
57" Sony Wide Screen Projection TV with a green hue
You were given some pretty good advice but what you need now is a BK467 crt tester and the pin-out connections. Each tube, especially the green, will need to be tested for high/low emmisions and shorts. Don't take it on faith that having it rejuvenated will work for anything other than temporary either. You're probably lloking at replacing at least the green crt and it ain't cheep..
PS, don't kill the messenger either - - I don't like giving bad news and any shop you take it too will not relish in telling you what I just did.. I have 20 years in the repair industry and it's never pleasant telling a customer it's time for considering an new TV...
Sony kp57wv600 LED standby
Mine does the same thing. I called a repair shop today and was told that it has 3 tubes in it and that 2 are bad. Cost is $200 each plus service; Appx. $800. Best bet, get a new tv.
Sony prjection tv 5 years old hardly used eithier
has the set been knocked or had a bang in any way, these rear projection tvs are very tempermentle to slight knocks, as you can knock the crts out of line, also the crts have a cooling gel that is located on the top of them, these after a while cloud up causing a very poor picture, if this is the case, then they will have to be replaced, just have a quick look at them you will be able to see if its the gel problem, look directly down on the crts (MAKE SURE THE SET IS TURNED OFF THOUGH), hope this is of some assistance.
