Can't Remove Front Panel
From comments at this blog on how to fix lines across Sony Projection TV:
http://www.somelifeblog.com/2007/06/sony-projection-tv-red-line-repair.html
Comment1:
To remove the cover on the KP57WV600, remove the 5 screws behind each of the speakers. Then pull out the bottom center of the grey panel. It is held in by 4 snap type pins. The cover hinges at the top. Rotate up and be careful not to pull out the wires connected to the front panel. Then proceed as directed here.
Comment2: For those with KP-xxWVxxx TV series you need to remove 5 side screws, just behind the faceplate covering the speakers, next - pull out the 4 round-shaped clips on the botton of the faceplate and last - push-in the top part of the faceplate & pull down at the same time to dislodge the 4 large flat-shaped clips on top.
Comment3: My model required me to removee the 5 screws on the rear facing side panels (LH and RH lower facing aft) then with moderate force grab the lowest edge of the gray front face panel and pull out towards your self. Gently supporting the weight of the panel since there are slotted alignment pins at the top of this panel.
Hope this helps! :)

Cleaning the screen cover on my sony big screen
Hi,
To clean its front screen, you should not open front cover as its complicated procedure. just take off its back cover as its shown in picture and use air-blower to clean dust. Then use soft cotton cloth to clean its screen from internal and 3 bulbs / lenses (CRTs) and job is done.
Need further help, let me know.
Bye.

NEED ASSIST

Sony projecting tv kp-57wv700
Based on service manual info, it cant blinks 7 times as per symptoms, please count again blinks. It can be 5 times.
If its 7 times blink, Horizontal Deflection stopped in this case. If you want to repair it at your own, please let me know to guide you further but it is necessary you should have knowledge of electronics.
Sony TV Sound Problem
Obviously the TV needs to be serviced, if you plan on trying something yourself be carefull and please note-
If still under warranty or if you have no electronic repair experience you should take the set back to the shop or to a repair person. Some of the solutions described below can be dangerous, TV's are very hazardous to service. Even when plugged out, TV's can store very high voltages.
Suggest ESR all associated caps and change the audio output ic.
If you're not sure how to go about that and you have some soldering skills I suggest that you first of all check for any solder defects in the area, and resolder if necessary.
Still, If the sound coming out of the TV speakers while not connected to the stereo is OK, then you're looking at something else.
Good luck
Q8035 - 8038
For the guy witht he problem w/ the blue tube. It probably isn't your tube. When you take off the front panel, and the board behind it. you can see the bottom of the tubes. The light on the bottom of the tubes says that your heaters are good; thats a good thing. Below the tubes is the focus block, where you can make adjustments to the tube intensity and focus. If the tube won't adjust in then replace that focus block and you'll probably be fine. For the other guys, the transistors may or may not fix it, but your definitly going in the right direction.
What's wrong with TV?
how many times does it flash?
i suspect a bad red tube
sony has a recall on the tubes

Removing green crt
More than likely you don't have to replace the CRT. Go to this blog for instructions for how to fix the most common problems.
http://www.somelifeblog.com/2007/06/sony-projection-tv-red-line-repair.html
At the bottom of the page there are comments from users. There are several users that explain how to take off the front panel and where things are located. The model KP57WV600 is different than the pictures in the blog, including the fact that the order of the red, green, and blue adjusters are different.
If you try it and it's not successful and you still want to try to replace the CRT yourself, google KP57WV600 service manual and you can buy it for $9.99 and download it right away.
I wish you well.
Color doesn't line up
you need to replace both convergence ic's they are located on your D board mounted right on the 2 big heat sinks you should either need STK-392-560 or STK392-510's you can find which one on stamped on the side of your old ic's. you can go to this sight and get them at reasonable prices plus picture installation instructions and free online tech support if you need help. By doing the repair yourself you will save between 4-500.00 for about a 45min repair
