Just enable wireless security and only give the password to those you wish to have access. You could also enable MAC filtering, but it's easy enough to defeat.

Get the manual from the manufacturer web site and find out how to log in to the router. You need to change the config for your new ISP. It may require user name and pass phrase before you can log in. If your last ISP was say cable, there are different options for DSL ISP's such as PPoE and the like.What do you mean that you can;t connect from wireless devs? Can't connect to router or the ISP ?If you reset to factory config, you need to set the router to use the same security mode and passwords as you did before the reset (or use a new passphrase with WPA2 and AES and distribute it to all workstations).

WEP code will be 10 digits only...you need to type all the 10 digits together (without any spaces)... Try disabling netgear utility and use your default windows utility...It is not the problem with netgear....

Try to reset the router to factory settings.Locate a small hole at the sides or back on the router.With a toothpick press the button until the router flash lights start.The try to start a new configuration.

The voltage is 12 VDC/12 VAC and the polarity is + to - and is reversed during operation. Please use a multimeter to test it's polarity before you connect it, otherwise you may make mistakes. If you are having problem using multimeter, i can help you..

Plug your laptop or wireless device directly to the router using a network cord. If you still cannot access your router through a hard wire connection, unplug the router for 45 seconds and plug it back in. Then restart your computer while it's still hard wired to the router.

Your router IP address by default should be 192.168.1.1. In order to make sure you are on the same network, click on start > run and type cmd or open a command prompt by typing cmd into the search field under vista and windows 7. Once you have a dos window open, type IPCONFIG and make sure that your IP address is 192.168.1.x. x represents any number that would be leased to your computer from the router. If you do not have that a 192.168.1.x ip address, DHCP might be turned off on the router and you will have to set up a static IP address through networking and connections managment, or network properties in windows xp.

In order to do this go to your control panel and into the networking icon. Find your LAN connection and right click and then left click on properties. Once it's open, click on TCP/IP and then click on properties. Change the raido buttons from Automatically Obtain to Manual and for the IP address type the following:

IP Address: 192.168.1.100
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.1.1

Click OK twice and try and connect to your router through the default IP address of 192.168.1.1.

If you had to configure your IP manually, make sure you go back in there and change it back after you configure your router for DHCP.

1. You will need to find the MAC address of the device and add it to the access list of the router in order for the device to be able to access the internet.
This is done in the router.

3.Note router name you are connecting to.
4.. Check the laptop do ipconfig /all to see current IP addresses. Done in the command line in Windows "run" if (Windows XP).
5. Set the Device/laptop up in the router by WEP KEY or MAC address.
6.Note router name you are connecting to.
7. Try to log on to the internet.
This is for all routers to set up wirelessly.

Try changing your wireless security , could be incompatible

If you forgot the WPA key and the password to log on to your router the only way to correct this is to reset the router by pressing the reset button for 10 seconds and then after that you need to reconfigure it back....

1.Check the default gateway that you are getting on the computer.
2.Type in the same IP address on the address bar of your browser
3.This will open up the router interface page from the router(not from internet)
4.There will be an option named FIREWALL, disable it.
5.Enable DMZ for your gaming console on the router. Assign the same IP address on the console manually.
**This should mostly fix this issue, else...
6.Check if you have a NAT enabled modem, mostly all DSL providers have.
7. Ask the internet service provider to BRIDGE the modem
8. Now, configure your router for PPPoE.

Se puede cunfiguar el router sin el cd, para ello debes tipear la direccion the IP del router, la original es 192.168.1.1 el password deberia ser 1234, a menos que lo hayas cambiado.
