I CHANGED THE TONER AND DRUM, WHERE ARE THE MIRRORS AND GLASS ON SHARP 1551-CS

Does this happen when you print!! Not copy. If it does when you print might check the transfer roller and or transfer & sep assemble across from the drum. If printing is OK then clean the glass on/inside the doc feeder you will see it follow the paper thur the doc feeder Btw, I’m available to help over the phone in case u need at https://www.6ya.com/expert/normanj_7893313f0751935f

Sharp AL -1456 Photocopier Tried to

Try this procedure.

The scan head locking switch is locked. Unlock the scan head locking switch and turn the power

switch off/on.-------------- If this is not helping then try this procedure:---

The unit will not function. Turn the power switch off and then switch it on, and if there is again an

error, remove the power cord from the outlet, and wait for 2 minutes then reconnect it and recheck.

--------------------------

Also as you mentioned that Error E-7 is appearing o the display. But above error E-7 it shows number like (E-7:01 OR E-7:10).So what number its showing above E-7 so as per that the exact fault can be checked.

I will give you error code list for all possible E-7 error codes.:---]

after you press START or print key it'll show you two digits e.g. 10 (E7-10 altogether).Once it shows E-7 then press the start or print key to get this two digit error code.:----

E7 03 Lens position error. E7 04 White level calibration error .E705 Black level calibration error E712 CCD calibration error. E7-11 is white level calibration error.E7 15 is for exposure lamp or inverter problem.------------This has to be checked. This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

I have a small, green part that someone removed

If it is about 2 inches long, maybe an inch wide with a small handle and slightly curved with a black spongy pads inside. Just throw it away. It was intended as a coritron wire cleaner that is useless.
The only other green part would be the paper tray guide that snaps into the tray, I bet you have that wire cleaner that no one had any clue what it was for.

My Sharp AL-1551CS,drum ligth came on and say

To reset the drum light on just about any Sharp AL series copier press the following key's in sequence and as quickly as possible (with 4 seconds for the first 4 keys)
Press "C" then the far left key (exposure mode) then the "C" key then the far left again.
So in other words C, far left, C, far left
Some model's use 2 other initial codes, so you may need to use one of these 2 alternate codes to get your display to go blank. The rest of the procedure is the same.
Alternate codes are: #, * , C, * or pound,star,C,star and also
#, Interupt, C, Interupt
If done correctly the display should go blank.
Then key in 24 as if you were going to make 24 copies.
Now press the "print" button
Now key in 7 as if you were making 7 copies
Now press the print button again.
You should now be getting flashing zero's on the display.
Turn the machine off then on again and your drum light should be gone!
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

Copier indicates paper jam, but

Most of the time when I see this problem in the field it is cause by a bent or broken fuser gate. The gate is behind the right side door and is shown in the picture. What happens is at the rear side there is a little tab that sticks out. You can see it in the picture at the far end. That little tab trips a photo sensor. If this bar gets bent or broken then that tab does not go in far enough to trip the sensor and the machine will show a jam all the time. Normally you can fix this by opening this "gate" with the little lever shown at the front end of the picture. Then twist the plastic by pushing the sensor tab at the far end in towards the sensor hole. What you are trying to do is get that sensor tab to go farther into the sensor hole so as to trip the sensor. Once it moves farther in just shut the right side door back and see if the jam is reset.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

Copier will not run.

Scott,

I had the same problem, if this is the AL 1551CS...called a local repair shop who kindly saved me a $75 service call by giving me the solution.
On the control panel, the button on the right is 'clear', with a 'C', and the one on the left is the 'auto' button, with no symbol.

Press 'Clear' once, press 'auto' once, press 'clear' again, the press 'auto' again (do all of these slowly because the copier enters different states or actually 'resets itself' as you complete each phase).

Next enter the number '24' in the number of copies and press start.
Then enter the number '7' in the number of copies and press start.

Now press the 'clear' button several times to back out of all of those steps and the copier will reset.

Should be ready to go. If not turn it off and on to reset.

This may work for other versions of the AL series, but don't know.

Copier keeps jamming

It either needs a new fixing unit, or there is something stopping the paper on the paper path. Check and see if you can see anything obstructing the paer path. The fixing unit is what melts the toner to the paper, it is usually a consumeable option that isnt too hard to remove and replace, but can be pricey on some models.

My Sharp AL-1551CS copier is flashing L 3. What

Scanner movement failure. The scanner is the part under the glass that lights up and moves back and forth. So if you lift up the feeder so you can see the glass, turn the machine off for a few seconds then back on. Watch the movement of the scanner. It should move right and inch or two then back to the left. If all goes well the copier should come to ready. Lay a piece of paper on the glass and press the print button to watch the scanner movement. If it binds up or does not scan correctly there are 2 possibilities.
1) your scanner lock is engaged and is preventing the scanner from moving. Check the clear plastic dial located under the far left upper side of the copier, near where the paper exits the machine. Make sure it is in the unlocked position.
2) Your scanner rail is dirty and dry. This rail can be seen under the glass towards the back of the copier. The scanner rides on this rail. It is very common for these to get dirty and for the grease to dry up causing the scanner to freeze up on the rail. The glass must be removed and the rail cleaned and lubricated.
Good Luck and thank you for using Fixya.
