The upper spray is clogged from our hard water

There are commercial descaling agents available, but apparently soaking with warm water and vinegar works too.

My dishwasher is leaking out

Either the tub gasket needs replacement (item 3) in this diagram. or the door base gasket needs replacement. Alternatively, the door vent seal could be leaking. Item 4 in this diagram.

Hope this helps.

Does not drain

Hi
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

I put liquid dish soap (not even dishwasher soap)

yes it will foam up unlike you have never seen before
by disassambling the door and removing the risne agent dispenser and very throughly draining the soap it may get all of it out(rinse it with only cold water since hot water promotes sudsing while cold water kills sudsing) if even a few drops remain it will suds like crazy during the rinse cycle (when the agent is dispensed) to remove all suds from the machine fill a cup of white vinegar placed in the upper rack such as if you would drink from it (not upside down) and run the d/w of a normal cycle
a better but unfortunitly more costly solution would be to replace the rinse agent dispenser

The clean light is blinking and won't go off.

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

I'm going to post the single most common reason for the "clean" light flashing...it is actually an error code as you may or may not know.

What typically happens is poor water circulation preventing the water from heating properly.
To resolve this, I'd start with the following...the wash pump area. You`ll need to follow these steps to clean it.

...Here`s a link which provides a pretty good video of how to do this, these guys aren`t pro`s but the "how to" video is pretty thorough nonetheless.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRCCrEwrst8&NR=1
Once these actions have been performed you'll need to clear the error code. to do so is as followsPress the following buttons in this sequence...

HEATED DRY - NORMAL, HEATED DRY - NORMAL, HEATED DRY - NORMAL

This diagnostic cycle may take approx. 15-20 minutes to complete and may vary depending on the model number. Now allow the unit to proceed through to completion and you should be good to go...unless the heater itself is at fault or a wire has vibrated loose from the heater...those are steps to follow if OR when necessary.

Let me know how you make out or keep me informed if you need further assistance or anything is unclear. If this resolves the issue please take a moment to rate me assistance and a short testimony is appreciated as well

Thank you for choosing FixYa and good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

All of a sudden the dishwasher is not cleaning

wineskil,
This has been a common issue in all dishwasher, there are solutions. I need to explain, if you dishes are cloudy/milky looking, you problem could be lack of phosphate which was removed in July 2010. Now if you unit has enough water and heat as needed, you can add a product called Glass Magic or Lemon shine to your detergent in the door of the unit when you wash. This will balance out the chemical needed to breakdown the detergent, I am saying no more then 2 tablespoon of additive with soap in door. Within 2-3 washes you will notice the difference and by rather pleased... Any question please let me know.

See if you have a reset button or a reset procedure. Sounds like an electrical problem.
Check your manual for troubleshooting procedures.

The 'Smart Wash', 'Heated Dry'

Hi

To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry or Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry, Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry. Now let the unit run for 2-3 minutes and then you press the Cancel/Drain button and allow it to completely drain and reset. If this doesn't work then it's an issue with the wash pump not pumping the water past the heater efficiently or due to lack of water to heat. Please make sure that heater is not open circuited and is heating the water efficiently. You'll have to check the heater using a multimeter; the meter should read between 3000 to 3300 ohms (Use multimeter on Rx1 ohm setting). If heater is fine then make sure water pressure is optimum and fill valve is working fine. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

The clean light is blinking. Dishwasher won't

Hi

If clean light is blinking 7 times then it may be an issue with heater circuit, door switch or wash pump. If yes then please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault.
