The two big terminals are one fom the battery and the other to the starter. The two smaller ones one comes from the ignition switch and the other might just be a ground. Test becareful is hook the battery and starter wires up; take a wire and stick one on the battery terminal and tap each of the smaller terminals; when you get a click that will and should fire the stater; make sure it is out of gear or it will start. remember that terminal and hook the ignition key to it. check the other smaller terminal is or isn't a ground one. http://i59.tinypic.com/24xnwk3.jpg

I did a search for your model mower. Nothing came up. I searched the engine diagram, but that doesn't help much. If you can take a picture or two and post here I should be able to help you. On my briggs, the red wire from stator goes to positive terminal of battery and yellow wire goes to amp meter on dash. If you are not hearing any noise coming from the wheel motor on the left side and you fluid level is good you have two choices to chose from. One, raise the rear wheels and put it on jack stands. Run the units wheels forward and reverse for about five times each and then try it again. If this works, you just bled the hydraulic system of air. If this did not work, you need to have the left pump flow tested at your nearest shop and most likely you will have to replace the pump. Hope this helps. P.S. It probably doesn't have a factory filter, but I feel ALL small engines should have. The only fluids to check would be the engine oil and maybe the tranmission lube in the little gearbox (if it is self propelled). I don't know how STEEP the hills you mention are, but if too steep, gas flow and oil cirulation will be affected. Try going up the hill at an angle to reduce the problem.
If there is no dipstick tube on the engine to check the oil level, then look for a little yellow cap at the bottom of the engine right above the deck. It is threaded and twists on and off the engine. I think it is made of nylon.Your oil should always be clean, never black. When it starts getting dirty, change it. Most small lawn mowers hold 20 ounces of engine oil (about 2/3 of a quart).

You should have a big black wire that has a red stripe going through it. This wire will go on the picture as shown to the top left terminal and travel down to the starter. You will have a big red wire and there may be a smaller red attached with it. This or these wires will go to the top right terminal. The white wire should be a small gage wire and will go on the front left terminal. There should only be one more single black wire with a female terminal on the end of it where it will plug into the front right terminal on the solenoid. The remaining black and blue should have male ends on them and discard them, they do not plug into anything.

If you killed the motor by jamming the blades, the mower belt may have come off or broke. Check to see if it is still in place. Also with the engine off, turn the blades by hand and see if the upper pullies turn.

Check the start relay (not starter solenoid) energizes during crank. If the start relay does not energize then the magneto kill shunt is closed, hence no spark.
