If you can find a mounting hole on the back of your safe if it's not attached to the wall already, pick up a little grabber (Canadian Tire) as I had to do. Pull the batteries out and put new ones in, enter your code and you should be good.

Sounds like you may need to return it. I had a brand new one that did something similar then suddenly started working and has been working fine. My issue was that it was stuck open and the bolt did not close when I tried. Not sure what I dod. But I called support and they said to return it. Then it started working so I have kept it. Your issue sounds different and the spring may be gone or stuck.

You need a locksmith. The handle will only work when the dial is freed up and the combination dialed in correctly. Cheapest idea is a angle grinder on the sides or back.

A serial number is not a model number, so difficult to answer such questions with a definite answer. They make so many safes in so many types and sizes. Sentry will give the stock combination for fee and a sworn affidavit that you own the safe, but it may have been changed if it is electronic. If it is electronic, you only need a large rare earth puck magnet to open it. Then you replace the batteries and press the red reset button. Open it yourself in 5 seconds. It could be the metal piece that allows the safe to close is broken or loose or jammed. I would call the customers service phone number and email them too and see if you can get a refund or have someone repair the safe or they could send you another safe in the mail. 1-800-828-1438 for the customer service phone number.
