putting an ip to 1820, just go to system menu, scroll down look for the network setting, you will find ip address, then fill it up.

Enter the service mode and enter reset code 163.

error code is for a communication problem between two of the internal printed circuit boards. I would just open machine toner door and close to see if it resets if not , you'll have to find a dealer for repair

The errorcode comes up when the waste toner is full.
Unfortunately the waste toner collection is in the process unit.
You will have to replace the whole cartidge.

2, press "enter".
3, enter 163 then press enter.
4, choice "execute", then press "enter".
5, turn off the power and back on.

if this were your problem it would be obvious the inner tray is in the middle of the machine there is a lever that lifts up as paper stacks up its probably stuck in raised position

This code is a high temperature in the fuser unit. The reset process is as follows, enter 1087-1087-163-print button-execute-print button then shut machine off when the message comes up on the display. You first need to pull the fuser out and manually check that it is running smoothly. More times than not, it will be the fuser rather than the motor.

If the fuser is fine, locate the motor then turn the machine on and visually inspect. If the motor does not run before the code pops up then replace it.
