Burner flame adjustment
there are two considerations for burner height. 1) the gas adjustment screw on the knob and 2) the gas-air mixture to the burner. establish a flame and adjust the screw for a standing flame at the burner. adjust the gas-air ratio orifice so that the flame has no yellow tips.
What does an F4 code mean?
Shorted sensor, Sensor resistance is less than 2900 ohms during bake broil or clean. Sensor circuit connections. That's the reading from the manual. Have you checked fuses , if there are any? almost sounds like they could have the wrong resistance or weakened? Do you have a manual I have copied the link to a good on-line one. I have a GE JGBP30 gas range. The oven is taking
Quiet possibly, but make sure there are leveling legs installed and the front edge of the range is not blocked by any flooring. It may be that the oven is not receiving enough combustion air. (sometimes happens when flooring is replaced and legs are removed so the range is not higher than the countertop, or a layer of flooring is added to the room and buts up against the range, where flooring was not added.)
Used the oven on Sunday night - on Monday it wouldn't work!
Check to see if the ignitor is coming on, you will see a bright orange glow in the burner area when you turn it on. If you don't, your ignitor is burned out. It is a fairly inexpensive item and fairly easy for the do it yourselfer. Just remember to unplug your oven before you replace the ignitor.
The oven won't light
Chances are the oven ignitor will need to be replaced. Look and see if it glows. If it does then it is weak and not opening the gas valve to lite. Let me know what you find.

The adjustment you attempted was to make the regulator track the temperature setting on the knob.
The yellow flame is caused by poor combustion and could be producing carbon monoxide, an odorless, tasteless and very deadly gas.
It sounds like the path for air is blocked and causing the problem.
For anyone, I recommend a carbon monoxide detector in the home if you have any gas appliances or even unused gas connections.
They cost $30-$35 US but flowers for your funeral could run more.
A family near our town lost the father and the wife and 3 kids ended up in the hospital due to this only a few days ago.
They had only moved into the house a week ago.
