Motorola MT1000 Compatible 2 Way Radio Battery Eliminator Questions & Answers
Ntn7143cr battery won,t charge
Clean your battery contacts on the battery and charger with a pencil eraser to assure good contact. Flashing red or flashing in general usually is the sign of a too low to charge battery, a shorted battery or a bad connection. In some instances, a battery will begin to charge once left on the flashing charger for an hour or so. Try this and see if the light becomes constant. If so, it is charging. If it still flashes, replace the battery.
Best regards.
Code Plug
Code plug is the terminology used to describe the programming data held in the radio.
Battery volts check
With the battery fully charged, you can us a volt meter. Touching the wands to two separate battery contacts. (I believe it to be the outter two. But you will be able to tell from the reaction of your meter.) If it show you a negative number, simply reverse your wands.
On the CLS1410 and its sister the VL50, there is a battery indicator built into the radio. It will show you on the screen how much charge is in the batteries. Also, with this style of radio, you are using a Li-Ion battery, which will last you about 12-14 months before you need to replace it.
There is a date code on the white portion of the battery label. It is sometimes hard to discern. But if you look you'll see the year followed by the month and date. If the radio was fresh from Motorola when you bought it. The battery date should coincide with its true initial charge age.
MT1000 Not receiving
Antenna connection inside rf deck may be loose.
If that is it, resolder it.
.
One very common problem that the MT1000 had, along with its little
brother, the HT600's, was that the antenna lug would break away from the
board. This can usually be repaired by desoldering and resoldering the lug
at the PC board end.
I do not recommend attempting this repair unless you have the appropriate
desolder/solder tools, and the skill to use same. There is some risk of
damage to the board if it's not done right.
Freq lock up
If you have programming cables and SW you can program a freq. in the center of the band,in slimplex.
Question, can you read this radio?
Mt1000 lock up
I think there is a problem with the Synthetizer, you will need quilyfied service.
This could be caused when you change frequency, the Synth, can not be able to "produce" the desired freq. caused for a problem in this area, this causes to the radios get PLL UNLOCKED and this could be the way that the radio give an alert to the user.
Display lock up
this happened when try to program the radio en frequencies out of band of radio?
I need help to dismantle a motorola radius sp10 2 way radio
Remove the battery, slip a small screw driver into the slot at the bottom of the radio between the outer housing and the battery tray, gently pry up. If your radio has a pair of battery contacts on the exterior they will come up with the tray. Be gentle, and do not disturb the Mylar ribbon that runs down the back of the tray. Once the tray is removed, using a frame removal tool (shaped like a squared letter U) you slip the tool in the channels on either side of the radio where you removed the battery tray. Then slide the tool upward until it meets the two plastic ears. The tool will slip under the ears and using your tool you can push the component board out the top of the housing. If your radio has an 8-dip-switch private line board, you may want to watch you do not damage or dislodge it in the process.
Can the Motorola factory replace the battery in the H730 headset?
It is possible to have the battery in your Motorola H730 headset replaced, but it would likely need to be done by a third-party repair service as the battery is not typically user-replaceable.
Motorola does not offer an official repair service for the H730 headset, so you may need to find a third-party repair service that specializes in repairing Bluetooth headsets. Be aware that third-party repairs may void any remaining warranty on the device.
You can also consider purchasing a new headset if you prefer not to have it repaired.
I have two older Motorola Walkies Talkabout FR60 wont send or receive and a T5820 with the rubber broken off the antenna is is cost feasible to fix or not
I believe for the FR60 walkie-talkies, if they are not sending or receiving, the issue could be related to the antenna, battery, or internal components. You can try replacing the batteries and/or antennas to see if that resolves the issue.
As for the T5820 walkie-talkie, if the rubber on the antenna is broken, it's likely that the antenna itself is also damaged. In this case, you can try replacing the antenna with a new one. Antennas are typically available for purchase online or at electronics stores.
In terms of cost, repairing older walkie-talkies like these may not always be cost-effective. If the repairs are extensive or require replacement of major components, it may be more practical to purchase new walkie-talkies instead.
Below are options of the options of walkie-talkies you can buy;
Motorola sliver headset won't power on even when the green lights are solid
There are a few things you can try to troubleshoot this issue with your Motorola Silver headset not powering on:
- Make sure that the headset is fully charged by connecting it to the charger for at least 30 minutes.
- Check the battery contacts in the headset and charger to ensure that they are clean and free of debris.
- Try resetting the headset by holding down the power button for 15 seconds.
- Try a different charger or charging cable to see if that resolves the issue.
- Make sure that the headset is not in pairing mode.
- Check the headset manual for any information regarding troubleshoot, or if there are any specific instructions for turning on the headset.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be a problem with the headset itself and you may need to contact Motorola for further assistance.

Can you use the Motorola XPR 4550 as a police scanner?
The Motorola XPR 4550 is a two-way radio, not a scanner. Scanners are devices that can listen to a wide range of frequencies, whereas two-way radios are designed for communication between a limited number of specific devices on specific frequencies. However, you can use a scanner to listen to the frequency that the Motorola XPR 4550 is transmitting on.
Motorola XTL5000. encoding is working but decoding is not. If you encode a different tone on another radio it still hears it.
