Turn off the message light

You have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

Can't find how to set my voicemail message on Panasonic KX-T7431

Thanks for all the helpful information! First of all, I think you have a TVS/TVM voice mail system. That's good, but what does the lady say when you dial 265 or 165 from either your phone or a phone that works?

If you have voice mail set up, the prompt would be to "Enter your password then #" or "You have X new messages" if you don't have your password set. If you don't get ANY of those on your phone, but do on someone else's, you don't have a mailbox.

Mailboxes are added from the System Owner's mailbox (999) by
option 6 then 1. Once you have a mailbox, you do use option 5 and 3 or 2 or 1 for Name, Password, and Greeting.

Since there is little difference between the models of voice mail, I have attached a TVS-50 manual. The instructions for adding a mailbox start on page 280 (or use the System Manager's Guide tab on the left).

With any luck, you'll get voicemail too :-)

Does the panasonic kx-t7431 phone

No. CW CID is a function of the system the phone is plugged into. A TD system doesn't have it.

We have a KX-TD816 system and I have a KX-T7431

So what happens when they press TRANSFER and dial your extension? What happens when you call someone with a display phone and your extension comes up on the display?

The FWD/DND button shows that you have a FWD or DND condition set on your phone. Try pressing it one or 2 times and see if the display says FWD to xxxx. Now, if it is cleared, from the intercom dial 7104 (busy) or 7105 (no answer) 165 # That sets the CF on your phone.

If the others have lost your DSS button on their busy lamp fields, and truly nobody can "transfer" calls to you, you can reprogram those with PROGRAM 99 (don't pick up the handset) press the button assigned to your extension and dialing 1 + your extension and STORE.

HAVE LOST LINE 1 AND LINE 2 ON THE PHONE LINE

When you press PROGRAM 99 and the buttons where line 1 & 2 appear, it should say CO-01 and CO 02. If it doesn't dial 0 01 STORE and 0 02 STORE in those buttons. In a TD system, the lines have to appear in order for you to use them. They don't have to be 1:1, but it's the easiest.

(there's a Group CO button command to save buttons)

There is a music played

Since you asked this in the PANASONIC TD category, I'll pretend the model number is not really 8850D, whatever that is.

On your idle phone, press "1". If it's truely a PANA digital phone the music will stop.

Hi, I have a Panasonic

Headsets on the 74xx series phones come in different flavors than the universal headsets of the 76xx and 77xx phones. The old Plantronics M bases and P headsets used to have a couple of adjustment dials on the bottom of the interface box that you had to play with in order to match the microphone to the phone system. If yours has those dials, try turning them until you can hear yourself in the earpiece.

Can we make it so the phone can receive calls but

You can, but you need access to Installer level programming. I'm not going to give you detailed instructions here, because any fool can do the reverse and UNrestrict a phone with the same instructions, but system program 500 and 501 sets day and night restrictions on a phone. Setting the COS to 7 lets the phone dial 0, intercom, and, by programming, System speed dial numbers.
COS 8 allows Operator only (internal operator).

By building tables, you can actually program different restrictions and exceptions for COS 2-6. There's a fairly comprehensive discussion in the Panasonic Features Manual of your TD 816/1232 manual.

Hi I believe that the handsets are NOT interchangeable at all, it has a different impedance for a start, and will not work with the existing setup, as these units must be programmed to work on the existing system, and these are simply incompatible.
