DeLonghi EAM3200 Espresso & Coffee Maker Questions & Answers
My Delonghi ESAM3200 is not heating up as quickly
Answering an OLD but still relevant qustion -- Replacement of the NTC thermistor (Nt Sensor, 5232105100) is possible, technically. The part is cheap, about $14. HOWEVER, be aware the thermistor is epoxied into the steam generator housing. So replacement is non-trivial. It's far less trouble to just spring for the cost of the whole generator. Buy new o-rings, too, as the old ones eventually leak and cause the generator frame to rust.

I have the same problem, it leaks all over the place and makes a mess inside. Initially it just seemed to leak steam but it got worse and worse until now it leaks water badly. I took it apart and it appears to be a small orange silicone seal that's bad. The seal is located on the plunger that compacts the grinds and then forces water through to make the coffee. I took mine completely apart but I think by using a stubby Phillips you could remove the small black cap and replace the O ring easily. The O ring on mine that is torn is about .35" OD and about .15" ID.
To check if this is the problem on yours; turn off the machine and remove the main filter unit by pressing the two red "press to remove clips" and pulling the unit out. It will not come out with the machine powered on. Now look up into the top right hand corner and you''ll see the plunger and heater unit angled towards the center of the machine. There are two small stainless countersunk Phillips screws. Remove these and you should be able to see the small orange silicone O ring in question. Might be a good idea to replace the large one as well as it now pops right off and you can certainly clean around it now, something I was never able to do before. My small orange silicone O ring was torn into two pieces and I'll replace it tomorrow and see if it helps.

Could you please explain what happens when you try to start the machine.
Could you also please confirm if you've recently descaled the machine or checked for blockages in the pipes.

The original fault
Hi,
According to your problem first clean the grounds container. The water tank should also be cleaned regularly. The drip tray is fitted with a level indicator (red) showing the level of water it contains. Check that the holes in the coffee spout are not blocked. The infuser must be cleaned regularly to avoid this type of problem. To clean the infuser turns the appliance off. Open the service door, remove the drip tray and the grounds container and clean. Press the two red release buttons on the infuser sideways and towards the centre and pull it out.
Wash the infuser under running water, without using detergents. If it doesn't help you then check the electric unit and wires. You may need to replace the infuser also.

I have the same issue. I have tried replacing the O-rings in the water heating element and the steamer, and it still does this. For a temporary fix, try running the steamer for about 30 seconds, or until it is running "full steam", and immediately make your coffee. This has worked for my machine for the last 4 months. It is used about 5-10 times a day at my work, and this still is working. I believe the issues is it is losing pressure somewhere, and the water cannot travel through the infuser. I have taken apart my machine more than 10 times, and I still cannot find out where the pressure loss is. I know this is a temporary fix, but it will work until something more permanent can be done. Hope this helps!
