Emerson MW8102SS 1100 Watts Microwave Oven - Page 2 Questions & Answers
Coupler replacement
type emerson microwave parts on google search ,should show several suggestions.
What is the cubic feet on the MW8102SS?
If you can't find any info on the net for this model, measure the cavity. Cubic feet = W X L X H = ??. If I had to, I would guess 1.6 if it is a full size counter top model..
My microwave arcs every time I try to heat
This arcing is caused by food splatter when something 'popped' or 'exploded' during an earlier cooking cycle. The food particle remained and every time the microwave gets used, this particle continues to cook until it turns into carbon. This can be as small as the tip of a pin. Carbon reacts very violently to RF energy (which is what causes the food to heat). You need to carefully remove the "waveguide cover". Clean it and check for a burned spot. You also need to inspect the inside of the "waveguide" once the cover is off. Clean it also. Make sure there is no grease or other foreign matter inside there and be sure not to leave anything in there (paper towel piece, etc..). If any of the paint inside the waveguide is burned, and if it can't be sanded off and touched up with catalytic paint, you need a new microwave oven. If the burned area is limited to the waveguide cover and you can't find a replacement, you can buy a sheet of mica material from a parts house and use the old cover as a template to make a new one. Also, "If you are on Gilligan's Island" and can't get any new material, you can cut the burned spot out and cover the hole on both sides of the waveguide cover with cellophane tape. Do this at your own risk but usually it works fine.......
MY EMERSON MW1119B STOPPED HEATING
Sounds like it's broken. Go for Panasonic next time, they make better microwaves. Here's one I was looking at http://bestmicrowavereview.com/panasonic-nn-sn651b-genius-1-2-cuft-1200-watt-sensor-microwave-review/
Can't use the microwave at all
you have either a bad keypad or control board.
If you have operation of some buttons and not others its the keypad. if you have no operation out of the buttons at all you have a bad control board.
If you turn your microwave on and it sets and the timer counts down you have a bad interlock switch..
please let me know exactly what your microwave does when you set the cook time
No power
i had the same problem and did what this fella suggested and worked just fine.
There is usually a 125V, 20 AMP line fuse inside the microwave, mounted at the point where the power cord enters the back of the unit. Unfortunately, you will need to uninstall the oven (if this is an over the range model), UNPLUG it and remove the exterior case to access. The case comes off in various ways depending on manufacture and model. If the model number you listed this question under is correct, the line fuse is connected in line with the power cord inside the unit and is listed as part of item 4 in the parts listing (part number STD384200). If the line fuse is blown, you can usually purchase a box of fuses at a hardware store for just a little more than what the manufacturer charges for a single fuse. 125V, 20AMP Ceramic Slow Blow fuses are recommended.
