Wont hook to the enternet
The Ethernet adapter may be conflicting or competing with the wireless
adapter for the Internet connection. Try turning off the wireless
adapter. You can either disable it in device manager, or some HP
laptops have a button next to the screen that will turn it off. If you
don't get an Internet connection, restart the laptop and try again.
If that doesn't help, I would suspect the Ethernet adapter driver is
faulty. Check it under device manager. If it has a yellow exclamation
point, question mark, or is not listed, the driver needs to be
installed or reinstalled. If it simply has a red X on it, enable the
adapter.
If the Ethernet adapter is fine, try a different Ethernet cable. If THAT doesn't help, it's probably software related.
A firewall may be keeping you from browsing. Some firewalls may see the
Ethernet connection as an entirely different connection than the
wireless one. Try disabling all firewalls.
Thanks
My machine seems to slow down alot what can I do
Delete the temporary files form the computer. To do so Click Start-> Run-> type %temp%-> hit enter. Select everything and delete it.
Same way delete the temporary files from windows well. Click My computer-> Local Disk-> Windows-> temp
Also delete prefatch under windows. ClickMy computer-> Local Disk-> Windows-> prefatch.
Try to restart your computer everyday and not just log it off.
Try and see if this works.
Need to buy a new h.d.d led, power sw, and power
Fine, find a shop that assembles PCs and which has the spare ones yanked from generic cases per order.
Or, since the LEDs are regulated by amperage rather than voltage, put any LEDs you want in (blue, green, white, yellow, UV (looks blue because almost any surface downconverts the UV), whatever), plus a momentary switch (it's never carrying the 90A 150VAC to a 900W supply!) MicroCenter and many other retailers can of course oblige.
Hey, that's like a shopping problem the way you stated it. Is there any other detail bothering you?
When installing ram i hear a single long repeated
either you have the wrong ram! for the gateway or your trying to add too much to it gateways only will hold so much before thet reject the ram the machine goes into a over draft in the onboard memory
PC powers on but no video
Loss of video is one of 3 things.
1) Bad or loose video card - But you get normal sounds (you can hear the Windows sound when starting up) and normal beeps. Does not sound like your problem
2) Bad or weak power supply unit (PSU). Sometimes it appears that a power supply unit is working, but in reality it is not getting enough power, usually due to some bad capacitors (caps) inside. If you swap out the power supply you have to put one with the same or greater output watts in it. Output watts can be found on a sticker on the outside of the PSU.
3) Failed or failing motherboard (mobo). This is usually caused by failing capacitors (caps). Caps look like little soda cans and they should be perfectly flat on top and not bulging or swollen or leaking anything. Visually inspect those. A bunch of computer manufacturers and power supply manufacturers got bitten by a company that years ago was making poor quality (but cheap) capacitors. Seems this company stole the recipe for the capacitors but didn't quite get the mixture right and after 2-3 years these things started failing. I have seen several e-machines with this problem.
So in my opinion you have either a weak or bad power supply or a failed or failing mobo. What is happenning is that the computer does not make it through the Power On Self Test (POST) and that is why you hear no beeps and get no video. SO I beleive that you have situation 2 or 3 mentioned above. That is where I would start looking for your problem.
W3502 emachine SM Bus Controller driver
Looks promising. It's an INF fie which are driver files. Download, extract, and direct Device Manager where to install driver from. The worst that can happen is it won't install, or you have uninstall / delete. Better than those fake drivers you mentioned.
