i think it needs a new thermostat as the contacts have fused together so its not turning off the compressor ,but in all honesty i have never changed one on this model so i have no product knowledge of how to strip it to change it ,but stand back have a cup of tea and a good look and dare say its not as daunting as you first think ,i would imagine a universal type thermostat will do the job yes ok it might need a bit reworking to fit it but it will work .

From what you are describing you have most likely lost the refrigerant (freon) from the system due to a leak.

This is not a simple repair. It would require someone to tap into the system and find where the leak is, repair the leak and recharge with refrigerant. If you are under warranty yet it would be repairable, if not you will have to weigh the cost of repairs vs a new model. A typical sealed system repair will cost around $400.00 depending on which component needs replaced.

The tubing you are referring to is called a process tube, it is used at the factory for charging the unit. Crimps in it are there when they seal the system after filling.

there are few things that might be the reason why is this happening.

1. Check the fan

2. check if there is any leak(oil leak) from your tubes or piping

3. have your compressor check, yes it maybe running but the question is thus it gives enough compression to provide the temperature you desired

change your temperature sensor, it's broken and it's going to down temperature

You can control its temperature by its thermostat control knob.

it has to be the thermostat,solution,replace stat.have the new one ready,as you take out the old one,and its hard to go wrong if you take your time,good,Luck eire!ps. motor won't stop unless stat cuts out!!
