I would suspect that you have a bad door switch or mount, or perhaps the "Start" pad on your keypad is bad.The quickest way to check is to hit the "Minute Plus" pad and see if the oven cooks. If not, it's a door switch or switch mount issue, either the top or bottom one. See my complete text file on door switch trouble
here.If it cooks, then your keypad is defective. It is part number FUNTKB107MRE0 (note zeroes, not ohs) and you can order one from

It's totally dead - the outlet is live
Since no model number was mentioned, I'm confined to giving a general answer.
It may be a bad fuse, thermostat or thermal cutout. In rare cases, it is a problem on the
control circuit board.

our Web site, we have a video
available showing how to remove a typical
over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.Disassembly information for counter top ovens is here.In many models, there is a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit
behind the
control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is
very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components. We're

Which is a wiser choice.
I would buy the microwave oven that has the one year warranty because it covers your purchase 100% If you buy one with a one limited warranty you need to read the fine print what it does not cover, and the magnetron with a five year limited warranty sounds good but has restrictions on the actual coverage, meaning they can refuse the claim by saying it does not meet the criteria, because the "claus limited" has been put into place and is misleading.
I left a pot of water boiling, causing lots of
It sounds like the magnetron may have
either failed or is not being supplied with the extremely high
voltage required to run it.
YOUR
SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT
This is a job for a professional but if
you are safety clued up, here's instruction.
Make sure the !!!!any
capacitors are discharged!!!!! before attempting any sort of
repair.
Check the door interlock switches first then the high
voltage diode with either an AVO model 8 or moving coil meter on high
resistance range for short circuit, (DVM's won't show the fault!),
the capacitor can fail and go short circuit, the feed fuse on the
primary of the high voltage transformer and then finally, the
magnetron is best checked by substitution.
Hope that helps.
I have a sharp microwave, model #R-1470. It's
We have a similar model's service manual at our site which will help you, but note that the part numbers will not be the same.
It's here: http://031d26d.namesecurehost.com/mwd//r1480_r1481_r1482_sm.pdf
If I had to bet, I would say the high voltage rectifier diode or high voltage capacitor shorted and blew the fuse.
Here are some links you
or someone you know can use for test help, but read their safety
warnings first:
http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/diode.html
(if it's not shorted or burned, it's
probably okay)
http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/cap_test.htmlOnce you replace the fuse (15A or 20A fuse available at hardware stores, etc.), i
f it goes dead again almost
immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted
high-voltage capacitor.
If it goes dead
several seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a
failing
high-voltage transformer. If it runs fine but won't heat, you have a bad high voltage rectifier diode and/or magnetron.
A loud buzz, hum, or groan is usually a
shorted high voltage rectifier diode, but a sound like gurgling into an
empty coffee mug is one symptom of a failed magnetron, and yet the mag can
be bad without that sound.
