you must remove pulley cover and master cylinder. inside cover is a large nylock nut holding peg mount. once removed a bolt and nut should be replaced in its place as it holds some of master cylinder

SOURCE: Hi i have a 09 r1 code 12 and 60 showing i have

Error code 12: CRANKSHAFT Position Sensor >>> It could be the sensor itself, but I'd check all the wires and associated connectors that run from it to the ECU and check any that pass very close to the fan blades as it has been known for them to catch on them and become damaged.
Fault code No.: 60 Symptom: Throttle servo motor: open or short circuit detected. Defective throttle servo motor. Malfunction in ECU (servo motor driving system). Probable cause of malfunction: •Open or short circuit in wire harness. •Defective throttle servo motor (potentiometer circuit). •Stuck throttle servo motor (mechanism). •Stuck throttle servo motor (motor). •Malfunction in ECU. Diagnostic code No.: 01
FIRST thing to do is CHECK the ETV Fuse - 7.5A I think - This might NOT be in the main fuse box.
Hope this helps

I've tightened all the screws on my Kuryakyn

get a shorter shoulder bolt that allows it to tighten up. Be sure to get a new nut. Allow the difference to not tighten it up so much as to "seize" the foot peg so as not to fold up as the manufacture engineered it to.

Gday, I have a 04 FXSTB Night Train, could sum1 please tell me how to change the rear brake pads. Do I have to take the wheel off to get to the pads ?? as the caliper & bracket is only 1 peice &...

Remove any saddlebags or anything that hampers your access to the rear brake caliper. Remove the two bolts that hold the caliper onto the brake caliper bracket and lift the caliper off the bracket.

The pads and all anti-rattle parts should stay on the caliper bracket. Pay particular attention to the way these parts are installed in the bracket. Replace all the old parts with new parts paying attention to how the new parts are put in the bracket. Make sure the rear pad is installed with the fiber side to the rotor, not the metal side. Don't laugh, I've seen it done more times that I care to remember.

Now, you have to get the piston compressed back into the caliper. I used either a large C-clamp or a large pair of slip joint pliers. Protect your paint and finish on your caliper by using rags or a couple pieces of wood or something. Once the piston is fully compressed into the caliper, carefully replace it back on the bracket being careful not to disturb the pads or parts. Install the two bolts and torque them to 25 foot pounds.

Now, slowly press the rear brake pedal repeatedly until you get a full firm pedal. Check the level of the brake fluid in your master cylinder. Add only the proper type of fluid called for on the top of the master cylinder cap. DO NOT MIX THE TYPE OF BRAKE FLUIDS. Check the brakes before riding the bike. Failure to insure proper brake operation prior to riding the bike can cause lose of control of the machine resulting in serious injury or death. Make sure you do this job correctly.

Proper brake pad replacement procedure for 2007 saturn aura

The proper replacment proceedures for saturn aura brake pads front is to take off your wheels, unbolt the caliper housing on it. You should also replace the shims when you replace the brake pads, it's the metal brackets around the pads. The new brake pads slide into place. If i was you I would also replace the caliper pin boots with new ones aftermarket. My car had a warping issue and a uneven brake pad wear and this fixed both problems. Need anything else ask, the tire should be retorqued to 100ft/lbs when you reassemble everything.
