1987 corvette with 26000 mile always garage kept from birth. Start once a week always starts inless than half a crank. But after ran down road for while and shut off takes 5-7 revolutions to fire. Almost acts like it's flooding or loaded up with fuel

Thee new fuels today go bad after around 3 weeks because of the ethonol content. Put a can of Sea Foam in the gas tank see if that helps clean it out. Best bet is to drain the tank put new fuel in it with a can of Sea Foam, then give it a good long run until the tank is empty. Re fill the tank and put the correct amount of Stabil in the with the gas, this will stop the gas from turning into sugar and it works for years.
Good luck

1997 Plymouth Breeze Engine keeps shutting off.

You need to do an OBD2 engine control module fault code test to see if the fault is recorded in the memory of the computer control module. Autozone and others do this testing for free.

My 1987 cherokee will start right up and idle forever. But if i drive it down the road a half mile or so it will just die, and not start for another half hour or so. Then it will start right up and idle...

The most common cause of this is that the Crankshaft position sensor is defective, (in bell housing rear of engine just over the starter) but you will need to do a fault code scan to confirm this on the computer control module.

Background: '98 intrepid (170k) has been running fine over last 4 months...no problems. It has been kept in the garage through the winter when not used. For the past 5 days it has been kept outside in...

You don't say what engine is in it (2.7 or a 3.2) but you need to check to see if it is getting spark at the plugs-it may be the crank sensor, weak links in Chryslers of this era. pull a plug just to be certain it is getting gas, but I'd guess it is a crank sensor.

1987 gmc jimmy wont start

yea you have no fuel and sound like a bad harness and the gm's are know for there fuel pump harness's! did you change it when you changed the pump? there is a lose connection somewhere in the fuel delivery system and it's pretty simply! i would check the fuel pump relay on the left hand side of the engine compartment and maybe even put power to the pump at the relay position "b" on the fuel pump relay harness and there should be a one pin connector to put power to also connected to the same position on the relay "b" the wire should be tan and white! good luck

1985 corvette coupe very hard start

There is a series of two videos addressing a very similar problem with a 1989 Corvette, first one diagnosis, second one fix. Seems like this is a not unusual problem for these older Corvettes. Check out the links.

Engine cranks, but does not start

My suggestion to this is to check the basics. Check fuel pressure and check spark during crank. There is no quick answer for a no start condition. You always have to start by checking the basics. An engine with no spark or fuel will not start every time.
