Think most bikes time from the statas plate behind fly wheel , bikes ive worked on have a woodruf key and the flywheel slides on that to stop fly wheel spining on crank

start a fresh ! plug out and turn piston to tdc and mark flywheel ! have you moved the timing plate ? soz i dont know the degree time this is just to help!
The flywheel is keyed to the crankshaft so it can only be fitted in one position. the timing marks are on the stator (behind the flywheel) and the cranckcase. The timing can't ever be that far out as there is a limited amount of movement of the stator, it is fitted with three screws in slotted holes. To clarify, with the plastic cover off, remove the flywheel-you will need a puller, don't lose the key out of the shaft keyway, you can then see the three screws that hold the stator in position. the timing marks are a line on the stator and an arrow on the aluminium crankcase- loosen the screws turn the stator so that these marks align. retighten screws refit flywheel.
Although Im not familier with these bikes, find out where the water pump is and change the gaskets/seals for this. The pump is usual mechanically driven by the engine, and will have a seal to stop the oil/water mixing. Its a common problem with Yamahas liqued cooled RD bikes.
There is a max mark on the 2 stroke tank visible through a slot in the fairing. If you cant see that then fill with NEAT oil (no petrol) to within 2 inches of the top, this will last ages

You definitely need to change all with a kit of : ECU, engine main switch, seat lock and you will get in the kit 3 new keys, 2 black and 1 red.The black ones need to be programmed from the red one at a dealer's workshop. Then store the red some place safe.
