2006 harley davidson softail classic engine light and battery light comes on. then when riding it died. changed battery, but don't think that the charging system isnt charging battery. how do i fix.

It is located on the right side just under the oil tank ; if you follow the rudder hose that exits the rear right side of your oil tank it leads to the bottom of the frame under this is the oil plug. This hose has a plug clamped to the end of it or stuck into a prug that is welded to the frame.
After this unclamp and pull the plug to make sure that you have the dipstick out before pulling it loose.

Only one the 88 cubic inch. There are other models that were CVO bikes with 1250 CC motors (VROD) and other with 103" (FatBoy & Electra Glide). Hope this helps.

The fork oil is a very specific job needing a manual and a special tool, I don't want to insult anyones mechanical knowledge but if you have never done it before, best to take somewhere else. Engine oil on the other hand is easy, the drain tube to any softail is on the right side by where the frame meets the swing arm, has somekind of plug in it. Start and run bike for a little while, long enough to get it warm but not hot. Remove fill plug and then remove plug in drain line. Using a peice of cardboard or something put in between filter and frame , directing the oil to your drain pan instead of where ever it goes. Put 1 qt oil back in (after everything is reinstalled) start the bike and make sure the oil light goes out, when it does shut bike off and fill to the point that when it is standing upright you get a little oil on the tip of your finger, over filling may result in loss of oil cap from pressure (been there)

The battery for your Softail is under the seat. The older Softail seats had a large bolt on either side of the seat to hold it on. Once you get the seat off, you'll see the battery. Disconnect the negative side first as you take the battery out. Reconnect the negative side last as you install the new battery.
