How do you remove the battery from a 1993 Yamaha Virago 1100?

I removed seat and sidecovers then disconnected wire from right side of battery (facing front of bike). Do I have to disconnect any of the wiring on top of battery to access other terminal?

SOURCE: Yamaha Virago XV700 - 1987 Seat Removal

Most Yamaha models have 2 bolts holding the seat on, usually located between the top shock mounts and the side covers. You should be able to find them without too much trouble, but remember- they are metric. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 1990 Yamaha Virago 535 Parts interchangeable with 2001 virago 250

Sure mirrors, nuts, bolts and screws. Maybe a fender and a bit of other stuff. But for the most part not much will match up and now you have this ugly monster in your garage and your next job is to figure out exactly how you are going to get rid of the da-- thing. Look a bit harder and get a match for your bike. Now you have something worthwhile.

SOURCE: how do i adjust the idle on my 1995 yamaha virago

On most bikes and four wheelers, this is done by a throttle stop. the position of the stop is usually adjusted by a screw. Remove the tank. turn throttle and see what moves by the carb/ injectors. When you return throttle to idle, the moving piece will come to rest on the throttle stop. You can now adjust its position by turning that screw.

How to remove seat on 1998 yamaha virago 1100?

Put the key in the seat lock (helmet lock). turn one way to open the helmet lock, turn the other to unlock the seat. Pull up on the seat at the same time. On old bikes, sometimes the cable that releases the seat (connected to the lock latch) gets stuck/rusted. Then you have to decide how important it is to remove the seat. Seat may have to be replaced if you cannot reach under to trip the latch or pull the cable with a hook or screwdriver (crochet hook sometimes works if long and sturdy - and you can pry the seat up enough to see what is going on down there).

I have a 96 yamaha 1100 virago I purchased used with no manual. I need to remove seat to access battery. Can someone clue me in how to remove the seat off this bike?

I believe theres 2 small bolts under front of seat...if you pull the cushion back you should see them. Remove the 2 bolts and the front of the seat can lift up....then slide the seat forward as there is a plastic tab that holds the rear of the seat into a slot. The seat should lift off once the tab is clear.

How do i access the battery on 2000 v-star 1100 classic

Hey pal, your battery is either behind one of your sidecovers or under your seat. Start w/ the sidecovers 1st....when you find it you don't have to remove it to charge it, but if it won't hold a charge (long term storage) then your gonna pop for a new one.....Good Luck to you friend....Tim
