How do you check the oil level on a honda
I feel that this will be a perfect way for you. Check your book and see how much oil your Honda needs. Drain the oil from your bike and re tighten the drain plug. Now put in the required amount of oil .Two things will happen. you will have clean fresh oil in your bike and you will know that it is the correct amount. Oil loses its viscosity over a period of time so new oil will be good for your bike and your engine and gear box will thank you. If there are no visible leaks you will not be losing oil so you could do that every 18 months. If you don't use your bike a lot do this every 2 years.Make sure that you put new washer on your drain plug any time you change oil.

What is your question? There is a plug and there is a socket. If either has failed, replace them.
Overheated battery

Your voltage regulator is bad. She is over-charging. From your description, when this happens the charging system is putting to much voltage/amps back into the battery. The regulator senses battery voltage and then cuts back the amount of alternator output.

G'day,
You say you are only getting 12v to the battery(& I presume you tested this with the engine running) then that is too low.
It needs to charge from about 13.5 to 14.2volts(DC).
Common causes of a low charge rate are,
Faulty voltage regulator.
Faulty alternator(stator usually).
You need to have these items tested to dertermine which is at fault.
Unless your experienced, faultfinding charging systems can be tricky & you need a couple of special tools too do it efficiently.
If your up for it- & have a multi meter,
You can start by disconnecting the wiring at the regulator.
Using the meter set to resistance-ohms times 1- check between the three yellow wires-yellow to one yellow then the other-see you get same readings & should be quite low(just a couple or few ohms)
Now set your resistance scale to max.
Probe between each yellow wire & earth.(don't let your fingers touch the probes-it will give a false reading)
There should be NO CONUNUITY- Any reading between the stator yellow wires & earth means a faulty stator.
As for the regulator- there all different so manufacturers specs are usuall needed.- as are test procedures.
Hope this has helped some what

Hi there,my f1 light stays on when i turn my
FI stands
for Fuel Injection. The fuel system sensors have detected a problem. It could
be anything > a dirty air filter restricting airflow, a plugged
injector, an error in fuel mapping, any number of things. Serious
problems can trigger the computer to prevent the engine from starting
until the problem is fixed. You will need to take the bike to a dealer to have
them plug in a code reader. The code reader will tell you exactly what problem
has been detected. There is also a chance a sensor has gone bad and is
giving a false signal. Keep that in mind. Now determine if you want to do the
fix or have the dealer do it. Please

(question for a VFR 800
Rule of thumb is for every 2500 km or 6 months. Your oil filler neck should be located just around and above your clutch foot peg, Open it and you should see a dipstick with 2 equally spaced dots or a C and L markings. Best time to check is in the morning before using the bike and the level should be C or lowest dot. and opposite after using it for 15 minutes. Cheers

There are a number of simlpe things that you can do in this situation.1) only use Honda filters,I find some of the after market ones poor.2)Check the seat where the oil filter sits for burrs or nasties.3) Are you overfilling your oil, this will cause the oil pressure to go sky high and leak where it can.4) are you 100% positive that is coming from the filter ring,Many tines it comes from above the filter and the extra burns off misleading you into believing its the filter.I just went through the same thing with my bike and it tuned out to be a base gasket. You may have to strip away some plastic on the bike to get a good look.Good luck and good riding.

You need to replace the voltage regulator. That's the first thing I would do.
Hope this helps.
