Are you using correct plugs & gap, is the air filter clogged, are plug wires bad & leaking current to plugs, is coil bad?

Soft tail tail light dont work
Check the bulb first, then wires from tail light to switch, check switch at foot brake. Does it light work using front brake?

2000 fxst engine code cal 04 and d08SEE
d08SEE indicates a high voltage condition or possibly a bad ground or regulator on it's way out
Check your grounds as a starter then reset the codes. Usually you'll find that your stator is getting ready to take a dump. 2000 and early HD's were famous for frying stators.

Want to do engine oil tank drain ,but can't seam
On most softail bikes, the "horseshoe" oil tank has a drain mounted down low on the frame. Look along the bottom side of the oil tank from the right side of the bike. You'll see a hose or a pipe going downwards towards the transmission. The rest of the pipes run to the engine. Follow this on down and it should run along the frame just behind and below the transmission. It'll have a plug in the end of the hose or pipe. Remove the plug and the engine oil will drain out.
