Just heard a loud pop (sounded like something hit the drivers side door) then a few minutes later the driver's side window rolled down (by it self)..... I pulled in a parking lot and heard a pop on the passenger side and couple minutes later, the passenger window rolled down (by it self). Neither window will come back up! When I operate the switches ... I can hear the motor/s operating. I was not operating the windows when they all of sudden when down .... we have had several days of 105 degree plus temps lately ? Has some broken on the window control arm and how hard would it be to repair this myself???

The glass is held onto the window regulator by a plastic piece, which is usually siliconed onto the glass itself. With multiple days of extremely hot weather, I believe that silicone has come loose, allowing the glass to separate from that plastic piece and the regulator assembly. Only way to know for sure is to open up the door panels and look see. I believe you can silicone them back on, if nothing but the silicone itself is damaged .

Honda element no power to either window

Since you have power, once in a while, the fuse must be good. Sounds more like a faulty ground connection. Check all body ground connections on the doors and under dash. Therein lies your problem. When something electrical goes south on me, I ALWAYS check grounds FIRST. That's normally always the answer.
