I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The A/C condensates inside the vehicle on the drivers side. I have located the drain tube and it is NOT plugged up. Is there any other reason why it would do this?

its the drain on the a/c , you need a gasket material around the drain. The rubber seal has deteriorated and needs to be sealed.

The most likely cause would be that you have the a/c set to let in outside air as opposed to recycling inside air. If the system is set to recycle, the moisture in the cabin air would quickly be removed, but set to outside air (or if the windows are open) the humidity would stay at a high level, causing excessive moisture to be collected on the evap coil. Are you confident that you located the a/c drain line and not the drain from the cowling? Hope this helps! Dano

My water levels are fine. why does my 2001 eclipse get water inside only on the drivers side, its not antifreeze.

The AC condensate (water/condensation coming off the cold evaporator core) drain is plugged. The drain hole is located inside the AC blower motor housing and drains out at the base of the engine bulkhead on the passenger side under the vehicle.

How do I find the drain pan for the air conditioner in my 2003 mitsubishi spyder eclipse

Sounds like you have a blocked drain hose that drains the water that runs down your windshield when it rains or you get a carwash. Look under the car right in-line with the bottom of the windshield on the passenger side, you should see a little drainage hole. Stick a coat hanger up the tube to unblock the drainage tube.

Condensation is leaking inside instead of under the vehicle.

Look for the drain under the hood ,directly below where the ac lines go into the firewall, clear it out with air pressure. When it is unstopped, the drain will allow a bunch of water to come out quickly, and alot of it.

Where is the air conditioning drain hose for a 2003 Mitsubishi eclipse

It’s in the hardest place to reach they could put it. Get under your car and follow the firewall near the center. You'll see a small hose poking out that you can barely reach with an air hose wand. Debris often plug the drain hose. If you hear water sloshing on the passenger side in the dash and/or the passenger side carpet is soaked, blow air through the drain tube to unblock it. Also the grommet around the hose there at the firewall can deteriorate and let condensed water blow back into the driver’s side floor pan. With a lot of effort you can pack silicon sealant around the drain tube at the exiting firewall location and solve that problem. With real effort you can place silicon around it from the interior also. If you don't have a compartment filter or your filter is old and ineffective, you'll be amazed at how much debris sets on your condenser coil down there in the center of the dash (if your airflow is less than you remember and not as cold, the condenser coil is likely covered in debris)...and it's almost impossible to clean it out without disassembling the dash. That's another story on how to fix...

Water drains into the driver side floor from the cooling system

Usually, this is caused by a plugged drain tube from housing that contains the evaporator coil and blower assembly. The condensed water allows mold to grow within the housing as well as road dirt collecting in the tube. Clean the tube--you should get a small rush of water out when the tube is open. Hope this helps!

Air condition leaks into driver side and rear floor board

The evaporator box drain is stopped up.Under hood, under the firewall, right below the ac lines, you will find the drain.Take a small wire, like balin wire and move it in and out of the drain hole to relieve the water,it will pour out pretty good.If this doesn`t work, try compressed air pressure.I hope this helps.

Need help locating drain tube on 2003 mits eclipse

Look down the firewall on the drivers side, right behind the throttle body area.

About 18" down there is the end of the firewall insulation, fold it up and back and behind it you will see the drain tube (about 3/4") sticking through the firewall just above the steering rack.

2005 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE AIR CONDTIONER IS LEAKING WATER ON FLOOR BOARD AND NO WATER UNDERNEATH ON GROUND

Sounds like a plugged evaporator drain. Pretty common on these cars as many did not have cabin filters.

Ideally you should pull the evaporator box and clean it out, but for a quick fix you can shoot compressed air into the drain tube to clear the blockage.

The drain tube is in the engine bay, on the firewall just above the steering rack, nearer the drivers side. You will need to pull up on the firewall mat/fabric to see it.
