My 1997 jaguar xj6 srs airbag warning light comes on while driving then all the dashboard warning lights will come on and all the gauges will jump for about 5 seconds then stop for about 5 minutes then repeats the process all over again. All this only happens after driving about 20 miles. I read something saying try pushing the odo button but this did not work.

This is a air bag fault light .it comes on when you have a fault in the air bag system.

you may need to get fault codes out airbag module to solve this dont and repeat dont mess with this unless you know what you are doing. they really do go BANG! and need to be properly disarmed before working on them my advice after being a jag tech fer 50 years is take to dealer or reputable tech even the minute current from a multimeter can set them off

I recommend you have your battery tested. The starter requires MUCH more power than the radio does. You could also see if the car starts with a jump start. Also, as a general rule, a battery is only good for 3-4 years so if it is older than that it wants to be replaced anyhow : )

I'm not 100% sure on Jags, but on a domestic vehicle you have to clear the code with a scan tool. You should be able to call any Jaguar service center and get a quick answer.

The SRS light is the air bag system, or supplemental restraint system. It is possible that it could just be on If you have had maintenance done on your car recently, but your airbag system is inoperative till you get the system reset.

I had a problem with the air bag light on. The wire in the cancellation module was damaged. I purchased a used one on ebay and that fixed the problem.

Sounds like it could be the traction control light?

there are 2 large terminal plugs with the wiring for all the instruments that are plugged into the back of that panel. make sure they are snug and in place. You reach in and under but it may easier to "simply" remove the cluster. 4 screws hold it in place accessible form underneath and with a long phillips screwdriver and lighting.
