The vehicle:

  • uses a returnless fuel system.
  • is equipped with a sequential Multiport Fuel Injection (MFI) system.
  • has a fuel injection supply manifold.
  • uses separately controlled fuel injectors for each cylinder. The fuel injectors are mounted to the intake manifold.
  • fuel injectors are supplied with pressurized fuel from the fuel pump through the fuel injection supply manifold.
  • has a fuel pressure sensor which monitors the fuel pressure supplied to the fuel injectors.
  • has a fuel tank filler pipe assembly which cannot be modified in any way and is serviced only by replacement with a new filler pipe assembly.
Each cylinder has it's own coil mounted directly ontop of the plug. Not a coil pack for all cylinders.

Hope this helps you.

Depends on the type of engine. DOHC engine has coil on plug ignition system where the OHV has a coil pack with spark plug wires going to it. Both engines only have one fuel injector per cylinder.

Reasons for cylinder misfires

Ford coil on plug systems are multi strike ignition (spark) under 1300 rpm then go to single strike a single cylinder misfire can be created by several things . #1 Test engine compression on a cranking engine compression it should be around 150 lbs but if gauge reads different COMPARE to other cylinders that work fine #2 check engine running compression this will be around 120 lbs then rev over 2000 rpm and check pressure drop again COMPARE to other cylinders that work fine. any drop would indicate valve train problems. #3 All internal engine is fine then external problems are present vacuum leaks and or fuel injection volume is low.

Code reader says my 2000 taurus is misfiring in no 6 cylinder i need to know what might be causing it

if it has a ignition coil over each cylinder very common for them to go out. easy change once you get to it only two bolts pops off new one pops on gl if thats your problem. if no coils over cylinders check your coil pack, faulty wire, faulty plug GL

Misfiring code po1399 cylinder 3 and 4

On most Honda's when you get a misfire happening across the whole engine like that there are a few likely issues. the ignition coil if it's a single coil style or the connector at the distributor. They also have some issues with EGR's and plugged ports which can mess with the fuel trim numbers. It's important to check the fuel pressure and if possible a timing offset spec from the scanner whenever you're dealing with misfires on any vehicles Honda or not and determine correct pressure and flow whenever possible.

Hope this helps.

I have a 2000 ford taurus 3.0 dohc coding miss fire in cylinder 4.

Friend, replace the fuel injector on that cylinder. That's really good compression and nothing at all wrong with the valves. That misfire is what we call a dead cylinder and it is repairable. #4 cylinder is the front cylinder on the drivers side. You must remove the coil pack, disconnect vacuum lines from the front of manifold, pop all the electric connections off, remove the 6 bolts securing the upper plenum chamber and lift it off the manifold. Unclip the fuel injector wire connection from #4 injector at this point. There are small bolts securing the fuel rails to both heads to remove so the fuel rails can be pulled up to get to the fuel injectors, the will stay in the fuel rail when lifted, and it's a stiff removal because of the rubber O-rings holding the injectors in. When you have that up and able to get to the injector, just twist it out of the fuel rail, put the new one in it's place after a light lubricant is put on all the O-rings on top and bottom #4 and all the lower O-rings that are exposed, guide all the injectors back in their ports and push them all down until the fuel rail mount brackets are in position for the bolts and put the engine back together.

I changed wires ,spark plugs, two coil packs and the two cylinders are still not firing

Do you have a simple miss on 2 cylinders? If so, you might be looking at a fuel injection problem, specificially a computer problem not firing the fuel injectors for the two cylinders in question.

I would investigate that route.

Could also be a module for the coil packs, that the coil packs sit on.

Think i got a coil pack gone 2000 gti turbo how do i tell which one has gone?jon uk

you have to change it. as a pack that means all cylinders are attached if it were single it would be a single coil over the spark plug.location is to the right of the intake.might have to remove the secondary injection pump.

Check engine indicates #5 cylinder misfire

there is a single screw hold the coil down. You might have to remove the fuel rail line before you may remove the coil. It is recommended to replace all coils, as others will fail one by one. Hopefully this helps

97 ford taurus: Cylinder 2 misfire

well..fuel injection systems are more than the electronic part. I suspect you are dealing with compression or injector fouling issues..
