1995 Buick LeSabre Engine Light

I have a 95 Buick LeSabre with 109,000 miles on it and lately when I start the car the engine light has been coming on. On the freeway the other day all of a sudden it lost alot of power and the voltage, overheating, and engine came on simultaneousely, but then the voltage, and overheating light went off and just the engine light stayed on, and the car kept running picking up power once again. Aside from this, the car had seemed to be running fine besides the occasional engine light coming on when I would start the car. It also has been feeling like it wants to die when idoling. I took it up to Auto Zone and they tested the battery and found that it was bad so I replaced it, but now the engine light has come on again and it seems to be running very hot to where it begins to fog up the windshield. I'm not sure where to even begin to look next besides maybe the water pump or radiator, any ideas?

Just wanted to let you know because I'm not sure where you guys are located but the Auto Zone here in Sacramento said they dont do anything like that and never have. They only test batteries and alternators, they dont do any type of testing of codes for engine light issues. But thanks anyway!

I also have a 95 Buick Lesabre that the check engine light comes on when I start it someimes, so I turn it off & restart then the light will go out. While driving on the interstate the car jolts & the check engine light comes back on, somtimes I lose all power. I have had the Power module & Ignition module relaced & it is still happening. We also replaced the battery terminal connectors. Still happening & the dealership cant find the problem & wants to continue to charge to trouble shoot. Who can afford that-what happened to actually lookin under the hood in addition to checking the computer codes which so far hasn't resolved anything except for emptying my wallet.

Autozone will run a scan on your car for nothing and give you codes and possible solutions.

Whew, I can't understand that, as they do this for customers all over the southeast U.S. and this includes most other national chains of parts houses around here. It may be that California has some sort of liability law which keeps them fromperforming this service, be that as it may, you do need a scan run on your car to point you in the right direction.

After 1995 Lesabre heats up the check engine light comes on and once in a while it stalls but starts right up

run fault codes to find the sensor that puts the light on. To ignore the light is to invite costly repairs as it is there to tell you that something costly is wrong .

1995 buick lasabre while driving engine dies with no sputtering or lagging. replaced vaccum hoses and fuel filter. will start after 5-10 minutes sometimes check engine light comes on stalls and then starts...

Suspect either the camshaft or crankshaft sensor is failing with engine heat. If you could get the check engine light to stay on, a scanner would likely reveal the problem. If you could hook up the scanner and drive with it on, it might reveal the problem at the moment of failure.

I have a 2000 buick lesabre. The fix engine soon

It NEVER was the camshaft sensor! Unless, you've removed the engine lately, which I doubt.
RUN to Advance Auto Parts and buy a can of "SeaFoam" and add to your gas tank per instructions...drive at least 100 miles and the problem should go away...IF it doesn't you'll have to replace the O2 sensors in the exhaust system...Any good mechanic should be able to do this for much less $$ than the dealership DO NOT go to the dealer for repairs!
Good Luck

1995 Buick Lesabre: security blinks and car will not start

If the starter is turning the engine, try re-setting the security system (leave key on till light stops blinking.) If the starter does not turn, you may have some success in re-setting system, if not you need to check battery voltage and voltages in starter system till you find the problem...can be something as simple as a bad connection at the battery. If you need help with further testing, just ask.

1995 Buick LeSabre - Stalls then restarts while driving

Has the fuel filter been chg. lately. If it has, maybe a fuel pressure test is in order. Fuel pump might be geeting weak and does not show up until it gets warmed up. Fuel pumps are a common problem on this type of cars.
