Door is closd wont open need to remove panel. 1989 BMW 525I.

The fuel sending unit is bad.It's on top of gas tank.

Right side of engine compartment by firewall.

On 1989 BMW 525i (E34) 2.5 liter SOHC L6 (M20)...

open trunk, disconnect rear trunk light. use jump box and connect wires to pos neg on jump box. this will give u enough juice to open doors, I have done it twice. easy to do

Basically you remove anything held by screws like the arm rest and inner door handles and then go around the edge of the door panel and pop it off the door. There are little plastic clips that snap the panel to the door. Some of these might break, but they are cheap and you don't need ALL of them. Go slowly and use a tool like a plastic putty knife if needed.

Access the fuse panel in the glove box by turning the nylon retaining clips inward 90 degrees until the panel drops down.check your fuses first if ok check your owners manual to see if you have a manual override feature n your car if not Call a BMW dealer and ask a service tech they may instruct you on making the repair yourself

engine could be seized...:( sorry...or a hose could have blown (radiator) and hurt or disconnected a main electrical line ...check fuses battery and cables..there is a bulkhead power junction on firewall high rt. side(passenger) immediately next to engine..battery located under back seat passenger side...first thing though..make sure you can turn the motor over by hand (breaker bar on nut at crank pulley) to determine if it is not siezed...good luck

it sounds like it is then propshaft centre mounting has failed you can renew it by removing the propshaft seperate it and replace the centre mount
