You could try to figure out the codes they will tell you the problem do a google search for troubleshooting codes for mazda. It could tell you how. You turn the key on in a certain order so many times. a light will flash to tell you whats up with you car. but you have to find the chart from Mazda if they even have this.

This link may give your more info for what I'm trying to explain.

no car told , maker, model, year, nor country. (sad face)
FYI:
don't use code readers, they are junk use real full scan tools.
no DTC error codes told.(actual)
do not tell me what they mean I look them up in a real service manual
not told
PCM scanner
ABS scanner
SRS air bag scanner, or all in one. (USA answers, and only works here, other countries have no OBD2 until 2008 so, there is that.

Car looses power, bogs down check engine flashes rapidly. No acceleration, then 15 - 30 seconds later power comes back and check engine light goes solid and stays on for 2 or 3 days.Anyone with idea?

You should read check engine code.
It tells you more than you can guess.
You can buy quality $1000 snap-on OBD scanner or $30 cheap one.
$30 will do good job. (you need to google after car tells you error code because cheap scanner shows only code but not meanings in plain English)

or you can visit local autozone and ask them read code for free.
unless you ask car itself, nobody will be accurate.

My 2003 mazda protege abs and brakes light stays on. why .i havs the scanner plug in and it keep deteting that there is a error in the systom and it dosnt give me any reading. thanks

Most likely a wheel speed sensor or the wiring that connects to it. Check all four wheels to see if there is a wire connector that has a wire missing or broken.

Just trying to get the motor to turn over. and trying to locate the fuel filter and how to replace it

A fuel filter will not cause a no start, check the pressure and see if you have any. Spray starting fluid into the intake and see if it starts and stalls, that indicated no fuel pressure. Also run a MECS OBD1 computer control system fault code test, you will need a MECS (Mazda Electronic control system) system scanner to do that or a Ford Star tester with a MECS adapter kit. (Ford owned a controlling interest Mazda then and now) You may just have a failed fuel pump.

Check engine light will not go out.

On my 2000 and 2001 Mazda, I bought a $39 scanner to see what the issue was, so I knew if I could ignore the problem. Everything runs well, and it was one of the sensors that didn't affect the engine performance so I just ignore the light for now. (last 2 years).

How do i manually retreive dtc codes for 95 cavalier without using a scanner. It is a 16 pin terminal

I wouldnt recomend this..
you could fry your pcm!
go to your local auto zone and let them scan it for free
or for $200 you could buy a actron generic scanner at auto zone..i like em
then consult your manual for dtc's

I need to know how to manually retrieve dtc codes without a scanner. What are the steps of this procedure.I have a 1995 chevy cavalier 2.2 l with a check engine light on.The pin terminal has 16 pins.

This info is from the tech manual.....because you have a 16-pin DTC connector, you have the OBD II system in your car. This is cut and pasted info from the tech manual:

Fig. 2: A Tech 1® , or equivalent scan tool must be used to retrieve codes from 1996–00 models with the 16-pin DLC connector

If you look on your doorjamb and read the sticker, it will tell you the year of your car...and if it was manufactured AFTER a certain month, then you have the 96 model...and from what you are saying, you have a 96 model because it has the 16-pin connector and not the 12-pin connector that the 95 and earlier had.
