A/C panel temp selector stuck in the middle between hot and cold. I turned on the defrost to dry the dew off my windshield. When the windshield was dry, I tried to move the selector back to cold air. When I moved the slide to cold it snapped back into the center of the temp selector. Please help... ---hot in Alabama

You're jus going to have to take the unit apart and find what is binding up the cable or blend door. Maybe something in the blend door path, a toy or something that ha fallen in the ducts.

SOURCE: Heater only blows hot (well, warm) on full speed of fan

Replace the temp control on this car, it should be electrical control not cables.

SOURCE: HVAC vent selector does not function. Air flow is

THe blend door seems to be stuck. When you change settings from defrost to floor air or, vent, the blend door opens and closes directing the air to the place you want it to go to. I have had some success spraying a lubricating oil such as WD40 under the dash on the blend door. You need to get under the dash with a flashlight to locate it. It looks like a flap. Spray it with a couple of shots of the WD40. Go easy on the spraying as you may be inhaling the fumes. Keep the doors and windows open to minimize the fumes. Wait about 1/2 hour and try the A/C functions. (defrost, floor, vent air)

SOURCE: Problem:

Problem is most likely in the electronic blend door motor or the door itself has broken.
To access the electronic temperature blend door actuator remove cassette storage box or center shelf unit, if equipped.
Remove instrument panel ash receptacle by depressing service lever. Disconnect electrical harness connector from A/C electronic door actuator motor.
Remove three retaining screws.
Carefully pull A/C electronic door actuator motor outward and off A/C evaporator housing assembly.Make sure the door it self is not cracked where the actuator hooks to it and that it will move.
Here ia a link to a pick of what you are looking at.

SOURCE: 98 xplorer cold a/c but when you start moving you feel it start changing to hot air

I had the same problem with my 98 ranger. the problem is the hot cold air blender door. on my truck the the top of the door where the electric actuater is placed broke and no matter what you selected on the controlls you would get hot air. to verify that it is not the A/C place it in the Max A?C position. this will cut off hot coolant to the heater core and you should after a few minutes get cold air. if that works you can find the actuator locaed behond the glove box door on top of theplastic duct next to the blower motor. the only way to fix the problem would be to replace the unit or do what I did I glued the actuater spindle to the blender door. make sure the actuater is in the same position as the door or it wont work.

2006 explorer blows hot air when on heat, turn on defrost and it blows cold air

That's done on purpose to blow dried air at the windshield to help it defrost faster. When in defrost mode, the AC is running. Standard feature on most cars and trucks

Why my air condition blow cold air even when its not on

It blows cold air with the mode selector in what position. If it is on defrost and you have the temp adjusted to full heat than the a/c will be on to dry the air before it hits the windshield, this helps to remove the fog from the windows. If there is no heat coming out the vents than you need to check to make sure the blend door is working. You should hear a distinctly different sound out the vents when you turn the heat from full cold to full hot. Also check to see if the heater core is plugged. With the engine warm you should be able to feel little difference in the temp of the two hoses that go to the heater core. If one is hot and one is cool than there is a flow issue. Either the water control valve is bad, it is not being opened by the HVAC control head, the is a vacuum leak to the control valve or the heater core is plugged. Your vehicle may or may not have a valve that controls the flow of hot water to the heater core.

Where is the temperature sensor located on a 2002 hyundai accent

okay temp is not hot enough check thermostat temp rating is it 195 degree etc. are you in a cold climate state? Maybe you need to get a thermostat of a hotter degree[four seasons 195 degree should do it]. If this is what you have (195 deg. thermo) then it might be stuck open not allowing the heat to build up. Another possibility is air in the radiator system, bleed system. This too might be of help the blend door, which is operated by the HOT to COLD lever on your climate control panel, might not be moving all the way closed to stop the cold air from coming in the mix area with the heat. Move the lever back and fourth to feel any change in heat with your hand. Put the defroster on fan on high and put one hand near the defroster vent thee other hand moving the temperature selector. Do you have some sort of heat and you can feel the difference from hot and cold, then my recommendation is to check thermo degree rating, if ok then try to flush radiator, and if that does not work --replace Heater Core. Thank you for allowing me to help you if you need me just write,Lee
