My experiance has been to find a cracked ignition coil, to check this you need a hande triggered spray bottle with water, open the hood and locate the coil start the engine and spray the coil down with a mist look and listen for an electrical arch or if the truck simply shuts off replace the coil and be carefull(its never happened to me) you dont get shocked
I replace most of the ignition parts already, including the ignition coil because my truck got bad enough that it wouldn't even run. As I understand it, a hard start condition is caused by a bad coolant temp sensor, fuel pump, injectors or a check valve. Does that sound right? I'm just trying to narrow it down instead of throwing parts at it.
Can you get the vehicle scanned? if the fuel pump or the coolant sensor were bad you would get a code,not necesarily a bad pump code but you would get lean bank 1, lean bank 2 o2 sensor lean condition. also i would remove the cap and girate the rotor as the distributor is plastic and if there is play in the shaft it can also cause your problem . another thing you can try is cleaning the throttle body

Okay, I forgot to update this after I fixed it, so here it goes. I went ahead and replaced the fuel pump and assembly. While I was pulling the tank, I noticed that the ground wire connection was pretty crappy. It was almost completely broken off. After replacing the assembly and putting it back together, all is well. It starts with no problem and it no longer bogs down.

I just replaced the coil, cap, plugs etc. because it wasn't running at all. As far as I understand it, if it's the coil, I'd have misifre and it would run rough. After I get it to start, the truck runs fine with no problems. It leads me to believe there is something wrong with the fuel system, but I don't know which part would most likely be causing it. I've read that hard to start conditions could be the fuel pump, coolant temp sensor, injectors or a check valve.
Sorry, been doing a bunch of other stuff. I will get it scanned and check out the other things this week and post anything new.
No codes. Just checked it. I pulled the cap. There is a the metal piece on the rotor that clicks back and forth, but doesn't move any further than a 1/4 of an inch or so either way. Cleaning the throttle right now.
Cleaning the throttle body didn't do anything for me. Also, it's getting worse. It's also bogging down if I accelerate too much as well. So now I'm losing power and still no codes. I'm still leaning towards the fuel pump, which sucks. By what I've heard, the fuel pumps can got out quite often using aftermarket pumps.
