check and see if you have an emergency shut off in the trunk. it will be on either side of the finder wall. it is there in case you get in a accident. the button pops up. make sure the button is in all the way. that shut off might be your problem.

Exhaust Gas Recirculation System Is the main problem here. the other code P0118 may be a bad temprature sensor or your thermostate needs to be changed. Last it could be a weak water pump.

So what is an EGR system and how does it work? EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation, and as its name implies, this system allows exhaust gasses from your car to be re-circulated into the engine, helping to reduce emissions. These systems are mostly comprised of the EGR valve, a DPFE (Delta Pressure Feedback EGR) sensor, hoses, a vacuum regulator, some vacuum lines, wiring, the computer and the exhaust tube leading to the valve itself.
The car's wiring can be tested in the normal fashion by looking for broken and lose wire, and all vacuum lines can be checked easily for cracks, leaks and correct routing.
The last thing i would then check is the the EGR valve, EGR vacuum regulator and DPFE sensor (or similar flow sensor).
I hope this helps and good luck

SOURCE: I have a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. Recently put

If you replaced the fuel pump then there is a possibility that during the job then some debris from the tank and/or filter got loose somewhere into the fuel system and is in your lines. It could even be a very tiny speck of gasket material, old or new.

SOURCE: 1996 2.2 liter. Starving for fuel

There are a few other things taht could be causing fuel starvation. First of all, did you pull the injectors and clean out the individual filters? There are small, conical screens inside the top of each injector, and they could be clogged. Second, There could be some carbon build-up on the intake valves, which would act like a sponge for the fuel after initial start-up. A can of BG44K fuel system cleaner from NAPA will get rid of that. If it is neither of these, the fuel pressure regulator could be leaking. Other than this, the car would need to be diagnosed by a shop before action is taken. I hope this helps you!

Testimonial: "I ended up taking the car to a local shop for diagnosis. It turns out that the fuel pump is week and not supplying enough pressure to the motor. "

SOURCE: The emission light and service vehicle light are on

No! Your car won't shut down BUT they probably won't give you an inspection sticker. Its not a big expense. Depends if they sell you the canister with the sensor or just the sensor.

2006 Buick Lacrosse CXL with 3.8 engine. I can't find fuel pressure sensor on it.

Where is the fuel pressure sensor located?

The sensor is part of the fuel pump assembly and is mounted on top of the tank or inside the tank. It's part of the evaporative emissions system (commonly referred to as "EVAP") and reads pressure in the fuel system to detect evaporative leaks, such as a loose or faulty gas cap.

Could it be that the ecu is wrong

No it is not Catalytic Converter related. Your fuel tank pressure sensor must be disconnected or the wiring to it defective for the evaporative emission system.

My 2004 Mazda 3 GT 2.3L is getting a P0446 DTC and is burning through a tank of gas in about 2-3 days depending on the amount of driving being done. My Mazda dealer believes that it may be the fuel pump,...

P0446- Evaporative Emissions Control System Vent Control Circuit Malfunction

Possible Causes:
- Missing Fuel cap
- Incorrect fuel filler cap used
- Fuel filler cap remains open or fails to close
- Foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap
- Incorrect fuel tank vacuum relief valve

Code is detected when VSV for pressure switching valve is ON, ECM judges that there is no continuity between vapor pressure sensor, fuel tank and charcoal canister (2 trip detection logic)

The vapor pressure sensor, Voltage Solenoide Valve (VSV) for EVAP, Voltage Solenoide Valve (VSV) for canister closed valve (CCV) and Valve Solenoide Valve (VSV) for pressure switching valve are used to detect abnormalities in the evaporative emission control system.

The ECM decides whether there is an abnormality in the evaporative emission control system based on the vapor pressure sensor signal.

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0446 is recorded by the ECM when there is a malfunction in either the VSV for EVAP, the VSV for pressure switching valve, or in the vapor pressure sensor itself, or when evaporative emissions leak from the components within the dotted line in Fig. 1 below.
evaporative_evap_system_toyota.gif
The ECM closes the CCV and opens the VSV for pressure switching valve causing vacuum to increase in the entire EVAP system.

The ECM continues to operate the VSV for EVAP until the vacuum is increased to a specified point at which time the ECM closes the VSV for EVAP.

If the vacuum did not increase, or if the vacuum increased beyond the specified limit, the ECM judges the VSV for EVAP and related components to be faulty.

What does po440 on a 2003 saturn vue mean with a service engine soon light on

That is a problem in the evaporative emission control system.
Could be anything causing it
Clogged filter in the charcoal canister
A leak in one of the vacuum lines
The purge valve not working,,,etc.
The best thing is to take it and have it checked out, they might have to do a smoke test to find the problem.
All they do is inject smoke into the system, if there is a leak the smoke will come out of it. All it takes is a pin hole in these emission systems to screw it all up.

I checked the codes and one comes up its po446. i dont under stand what it mean so i cant fix it to get the light to go out.

P0446 Evaporative Emission System Vent Control Circuit.
The following are descriptions of all Evaporative possible codes:

P0441 Evaporative Emission System Incorrect Purge Flow
P0442 Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (small leak)
P0443 Evaporative Emission System Purge Control Valve Circuit
P0444 Evaporative Emission System Purge Control Valve Circuit Open
P0445 Evaporative Emission System Purge Control Valve Circuit Shorted
P0446 Evaporative Emission System Vent Control Circuit
P0447 Evaporative Emission System Vent Control Circuit Open
P0448 Evaporative Emission System Vent Control Circuit Shorted
P0449 Evaporative Emission System Vent Valve/Solenoid Circuit
P0450 Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/Switch
P0451 Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/Switch Range/Performance
P0452 Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/Switch Low
P0453 Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/Switch High
P0454 Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/Switch Intermittent
P0455 Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (large leak)
P0456 Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (very small leak)
P0457 Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (fuel cap loose/off)
P0458 Evaporative Emission System Purge Control Valve Circuit Low
P0459 Evaporative Emission System Purge Control Valve Circuit High
---
At least the cap isn't loose for the gas tank.

I would clear the code with an OBD-II Scanner 'erase code' button, and see how long it takes for it to come back.
