you more then likely have an anti theft device, trying putting a flasher on either left or right and try, due all the dash gauges light up when you put the key to the on position? you can try unplugging battery and replugging it, ensure you have the radio code for stock radio before doing so.
It has nothing to do with the tyre, I would disconect the battey for around 1 hour, overnight if possible the computer may have been tripped out this can happen a lot on honda' toyotas and other makes so I would look at that first.
Also is the clicking coming from inside the dash or is it the starter motor clicking??? please clarify! Is the car manual transmission or auto? please clarify.
Get back to me with the detais as I have a couple of things you can try. Regards Dan
possibly faulty dashboard or key...immobiliser is combined with the dash display and may have become faulty after battery went flat.....try to get the key coded or try a spare key if you have one
Have you checked the charge on the battery? How bout your connections at the terminals. Vw are very sensitve to voltage drops. You might even have something thats draining your battery
Did you check the fuse that is behind the radio ? There is a fuse which might of blown, but you will need to remove the radio from the dash and you need special tools for this.
Sounds like you have a very weak battery. It would be beneficial to charge the battery for some time before trying to jump it. You could also take the battery to a Auto Parts store and have them check it. If it is bad, then bring a new one home, and try it then.
If your battery is too weak, sometimes you cannot jump the car.
Let me know how what you figure out, and I can provide further help.
