Where is the crankshaft sensor located in a 1991 honda accord

I don't list a crank sensor for a 1991 - probably because it has a distributor. Do you have spark to the plugs ? If not, you'll need a repair book to diagnose the ignition wiring.

Can I bypass the crank sensor on a 1997 Automatic Honda Accord?

They both have crank sensors. crank sensor is the same as RPM sensor. Both cars need rpm signal. You could compare the inputs and match differences...but BYPASSING or skipping isnt ever a good idea. The 97 if I recall required crank and tdc. the 93 simply had a distributor reluctor generating both,.
WHat I recommend is you dont mix and match engines that arent compatible or change the incompatible pieces. Life is much easier both at 1st start and in the future when it needs repair.
However, you can get the crank/rpm signal from the 93 distributor, move it to the same wires ast he 97 lists, and it MAY fire. Youll still have to deal with cam and TDC, and all sorts of other incompatioble parts.. the 93 5 speed ECM should still work fine, so its a 5 speed? the engine doesnt care. Was t just not cranking because of the clutch switch input you now didnt have? You could jumper those pins (blue n black?) and bypass that. At least then all your ECM inputs are correct and in the right pins. That seems alot easier than mixing and matching year parts.

2004 honda accord EX V6 102K. Missing at take off and malfunction indicator light on 4 days after mechanic changed timing belt, water pump, serpentine belt. Car ran great - never a problem prior to this...

your crank sensor could be going bad, it could have a bad connection or damaged harness-the chances that there is an issue with the crank itself is a little too far fetched, unless the mechanic thinks there might be something wrong with the reluctor, which is what provides the crank sensor with a signal-that too is kind of rare. I am just guessing here, but I think it's time for another mechanic-he was just THERE when he did the repairs, and now he wants to repair/replace the crank due to a crans sensor code??? You are right, something smells.

Every mile or half a mile my car will start slowin down an jerking an i jus got a new trans put in an motor could it be the cadlic converter

have scanned to find problem code. any auto parts store will scan for free. it maybe a crank sensor that causes it to slow down while driving, a crank sensor controls timing. if check engine light is not on at idle, then hook a scanner up to the car and let a friend record the codes ( if any). while you drive.

1996 honda accord will not go over 3500 rpm

Check for codes with a scanner or by bridging the diagnostics port found under the glove compartment. If it getting code 4 its surely the distributor. Honda go into fail safe at 3500 when the crank sensor goes bad Inside the distributor or monitor / ignition module. It\'s a one piece unit. Entire distributor needs replaced it dons\'t get sod separately. If your getting no codes don\'t be fooled its still the distributor. But check the cars side of the engine harness and plugs at Distribtor. Some years not sure 97 96 started having the crank sensor behind the timing belt bolted to the oil **** housing outer face. Its 2 sensors 180 deg from each other reading off of the lower crank timing pulley. Guaranteed problem solver. Check wires for breaks corrosion and if still no go it\'d be a bad ecm.
