First check that the dash light dimmer knob is not turned to very dim (far left). It is located in the dash instrument cluster slightly left of center between the tachometer and speedometer near the bottom edge.

If that seems okay, check out the No. 13 fuse in the passenger's side under dash fuse box.

If the fuse is okay, you may have problem with the driver's multiplex control unit. This unit controls lighting for multiple other lights and switch indicating lights.

I installed a radio and I plugged the orange wires in and my dash light are not working help please?

make sure it's all the way in park. push the lever and turn the key at the same time.

1999 lincoln navigator turns over won't start dash board lights stay on with key out.
sounds like antitheft system is acting up..needs reprogramed maybe..pull the negative cable with the key on....kills everything..then shut the key off..reconnect the negative.. turn the key to run position for a few seconds(resets all factory presets) see if it will start..

This sounds similar to my problem yesterday, where the lights were blinking on and off and the gauges going up and doing like crazy. It was the battery has lost most of its charge (only had 230CCA out of the expected 800).

There are more than one fuse on most vehicles affecting the dash lights. If all the fuses are good check the head light switch or the dash dimming switch.
