I changed my spark plugs on my 1999 Buick Century. After I changed them and started my car it just kept revving up. I was wondering what the problem was, if I maybe tightened them to tight? Any ideas, I did have trouble getting one of the back wires off the plug. All of the wires are connected to the right plugs.

SOURCE: How to change a water pump on a 1999 Buick Century 3100?

the water pump on the 3.1 isnt to hard to change ...

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Partially drain the cooling system into a suitable container.
  3. Remove the drive belt guard.
  4. Loosen the water pump pulley bolts before removing the drive belt. This should help keep the pulley from turning as the bolts are loosened.
  5. Remove the drive belt. Remove the water pump pulley bolts and remove the pulley.
  6. Remove the water pump bolts and separate the pump from the engine front cover.

SOURCE: Heater/AC Fan does not work in our 1998 Buick Century

Fan will be under dash on passengers side , Removing glove box might be needed, Gm also uses a blower resister ro control fan speeds. First check your fuse and then check and make sure your getting 12 volts to the terminal at the blower, You could have a blown fuse, a bad switch, or a bad resister , if your getting voltage to blower motor then most likely it will be the motor. These are not to difficult to change. I hope this helps, please be aware I can only guess at what the problem is from my past experience.

SOURCE: 1999 Buick Century thermostat question.

patience , and a 13 MM wrench , you gotta get your arms in there deep , that lower bolt does not need to come all the way off , the thermostat housing has a slot at the bottom for easier access , loosen it about 3.4 of the way and you can get the housing out , experience says a premium thermostat will give you grief trying to reinstall , get a regular duty thermostat .reverse procedure.

On my 1999 Buick Century the diagnostics codes come back as P0304 and P0440. P0304 is spark plug misfire. The P0440 is in Evap issue. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Misfire could be coil issue or poor compression depending at what point it misfires.
EVAP issue could be a leaking fuel filler cap or an air leak in the vacuum pipes.

Stalls when warm , no start when warm

What you need to do is when it stalls out then check to see if your loosing fuel or spark.Check for spark at the spark plugs.don`t just check one.Check all the front 3 a least. If no spark then you probably have a bad ignition module. It is under the coils.Good luck.

The firing order for a 4-cylinder 2.2L Buick Century is: 1-3-4-2. The distributor rotates in a clockwise direction, with #1 plug wire located at the upper left of the distributor The firing order on a 3.1 v6 is simple. 1-2-3-4-5-6 See a diagram of the 3.1 and 3.8 here. http://www.2carpros.com/forum/1999-buick-century-spark-plug-firing-order-vt177159.html http://autorepair.about.com/od/enginefiringorders1/
