2000 Buick Regal - Keyless remote programming

I bought a new keyless remote on-line. When I bought it they said it could be programmed. Now that I have it, the 2000 is the only one they say needs to be programmed by a dealer or a locksmith. Can I use the same instructions as the 1999 or 2001 models? Or does anyone have the correct instructions?

    I held it for several minutes and the car horn didn't make a sound.

Take the remote out to the car. Point it at the front of the car and push and hold the top two buttons until your car horn sounds three times

It does indeed have keyless entry. It needs reprogramming when you get a new remote. Also if you disconnect the battery. Usually a local car alarm fitting shop, or an auto-electrician will do it. Plus of course a Ford dealership.

I cannot program my keyless remotes
if the fob is not for mercury it wont work make sure when buying that it is compatible with your car make and model, look online for instruction how to program your fob keyless remote.
  1. Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 5 times within 10 seconds, with the 5th time ending in RUN. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming mode.
  2. Within 20 seconds, press any button on first keyless remote. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming.
  3. Within 20 seconds press any button on second keyless remote. Door locks will cylcle to confirm programming.
  4. Turn ignition to OFF

Bought new keyless remote for my 06 buick lacross. need to know how to program it.
There is no way manually program a keyless remote to this vehicle. This vehicle requires special equipment be connected to the vehicle diagnostic port to program the remote into the keyless entry module. Sorry many new cars are this way.

Step by Step Solution:
1. Check the battery in your Key Fob/Remote, Replace?
2. If after replacing battery and still does not work then may have lost programming, or bad keyless entry module.
3. May need to take to dealer to have programmed or keyless entry module replaced.

The dealer should be able to program it for you. When I bought mine, the dealer could not find the keyless remote, they took another remote for a different van and they just programmed it right there and then.
