2006 cts, several times now after washing vehicle the car stalls out, idles ruff then stalls upon starting. then car wont start at all and when trying to start car the electronic ignition keeps rolling over but wont start, after letting car sit and trying again the car's drained of power, upon jumping car it will start but all dash lights stay lit, abs,tc,brake, etc, also security system says it needs reset, once you tun it off and restart after the jump everything goes back to normal as if nothing was ever wrong until you wash it again and go through it all over again

I just had this same problem with a '96 . do you have a vats key in your '94? you need to bypass the VATS system. read some of the blogs on this site and it will tell you how to do it. I fixed mine with a $2 resistor from radio shack.

this seems like the theft prevention system, same as on my dads cadi, the chip in the key may be bad,but this is an issue best resolved at a dealership. the computer may need replacing, but its about 1k. take it to a competant gm dealership.

chances are there is a problem in the abs system, which also controls the traction control. have the car scanned for codes, which will give you a starting point for diagnosing. good luck!

Bring it back to the repair shop that did the initial repair and have them complete this repair. There is something wrong. They have to reinspect their work and check the ECU for loose wiring and determine whether you need a new ECU.
