1998 Volvo C70. I am considering buying this car from a co-worker. The vehicle has 150,000 miles on it and it current will not start. He said there is a problem with the alarm system and the kill switch is preventing the car from starting. Otherwise he startes the vehicle runs fine, not sure if I should get invloved with the vehicle.
I have a S70 an I too can not get it started. It was running and I turned it off. when I whent back to turn it on it would not come on. I do not recall any problems prior to it shutting off, other than the battery running down and I had to recharge it. The car is showing signs that the battery is still charged, because the alarm system is still working. what could this be? Is it something I did?I have a S70 an I too can not get it started. On some cars, a low battery voltage will only spin the starter, but not enough to engage the engine. Have the battery checked. Try a jump start from a good battery in a running car.
When was last healthy tune up, including fuel filter replacement and a good fuel system cleaning? I would start there especially considering fluctuating temps and quality of fuels these days.
you probably should have seeked this info before buying car,LOL volvo does make a good car, every one i have seen have gotten over 200,000 mi. of course they have their problem like everything else. if you maintain it religously it will be a good car.
The dealer is the only place to get the radio code for your car. It is always easier to go to the dealer where the vehicle was purchaced. If you have a shop that fixes your car, and they buy parts from a Volvo dealer, they can get the code for you.
