If your car calls for ATF 4 transmission fluid, then yes. Check your owners manual for the correct fluid.

If you don't have a copy of your owners manual, you can register for free at the Toyota owners site and get a copy: http://www.toyotaownersonline.com/Owners/reg.do

Just to clarify a bit more, it is always best to use the oil listed in the manual unless you know it meets or exceeds the manufacturer's specifications.

If used other tranny fluid than jeep 2002 Grand Cherokee Overland, would that cause code p0700.p0736 torque converter solinoid

any ATF +4 is ok, so... did you use that?
42RE transmission.
thats water under the bridge now.
sure wrong ATF is wrong, what is the point there/?
the correct fuild is clearly stated in the oper guide and fsm.
ill quote the FSM

MoparT ATF +4, Automatic Transmission Fluid is the recommended fluid for DaimlerChrysler automatic transmissions.
Dexron II fluid IS NOT recommended. Clutch chatter can result from the use of improper fluid.
MoparT ATF +4, Automatic Transmission Fluid when new is red in color. The ATF is dyed red so it can be identified
from other fluids used in the vehicle such as engine oil or antifreeze. The red color is not permanent and is not an
indicator of fluid condition. As the vehicle is driven, the ATF will begin to look darker in color and may eventually
become brown. This is normal. ATF+4 also has a unique odor that may change with age. Consequently, odor and
color cannot be used to indicate the fluid condition or the need for a fluid change.
FLUID ADDITIVES
DaimlerChrysler strongly recommends against the addition of any fluids to the transmission, other than those automatic
transmission fluids listed above. Exceptions to this policy are the use of special dyes to aid in detecting fluid
leaks.

when you buy AFT, it says on rear,
ATF +4
ok for chryrler and jeeps. in clear English, if not do not buy it.

mixing brands can be an issue, that is risky
best is full flush, with one brand, nothing is better,
here is one random example of those words.

98 toyota camry transmission service.

You can drain and fill your trans. It will take 2.5 -3.0 quarts of DEX III trans fluid....goes in the fill tube. Or you can get said transmission flushed which changes all fluid including torque converter.....about 15 quarts. Way more thorough.

Low Automatic Transmission Fluid in 2009 Toyota Corolla

It should be fine, as long as you topped it up again. If there's no sign of transmission fluid in your driveway it's not leaking. Keep on trucking!
