My 2005 BMW X5 brake light came on and I checked the book and stare it may need fluid, it was slightly low so I added some and the light is still there. Any suggestions?

Your onboard computer system uses 2 drive cycles to confirm a problem before a light comes on.
The first time it senses a problem ,it records it, the next time you drive the car, if the computer identiies the same problem it is confirmed, and then the light comes on.

With some vehicles, the same is true after a correction is made, it will use 2 drive cycles to confirm that the issue has been resolved.

With some vehicles you can disconnect the battery for 10 or 15 minutes. CAUTION! THIS CAN CAUSE ISSUES WITH STEREO AND VEHICLE SECURITY PROGRAM CODES.

I hope this helps you.

Warning light brake light and abs light comes on BMW x5

Could be low brake fluid, or mismatched tires, or broken ABS sensor. Did you do any work on brakes or wheels lately? If so probably the ABS sensor.

Abs brake warning light, bmw x5 2004

i would guess the brake warning light is the sensor telling you your pads are low. check the brake fluid and see what level it is, no need to add oil unless it is almost empty but then you would be hearing a squeek grinding noise from brakes. those only cost a few (i think $5) to replace when you do your brakes. but this is just a guess please make sure you have breaks before driving

Where do I put power steering fluid in a 2005 bmw x5

Hello Sir. Usually it would say in the owners Hand book you got with car? explaining all the controls functions of the car or 4x4? alternatively if you look under bonnet there only be four filling reservoirs: engine coolant water, washer bottle, brake Fluid, power steering. usually the engine coolant will be a largish cap about 2-3 ins either blue or black its NOT this one. The brake fluid Will be at the back of engine bay and so NOT his one. Washer bottle again will be a cap blue in color its NOT this one. the one you want should be near front of car /engine and should have a steering wheel symbol on it the caps usually smaller then the engine coolant and black attached to a small reservoir and when you remove it will have a dipstick attached to it or small spike attached to cap this is used to measure power steering fluid, hope this helps... Thanks Mike

Check brake linings light on in bmw x5 when i turn engine off and brake light is on

One of your wheel sensors has triggered - needs brakes OR sensor has come undone. Sensors are on left front and right rear calipers. Brake light is on = low fluid. Get your brakes checked

BMW x5 warning light fiasco

Hello This is Mike,,

Sometimes.... Sometimes this will take care of some of those faults and codes, and it only takes a few minutes to do. I know your problem is not exact as this reset method says, but however you would be amazed on this fixes a lot of things, it like a cheap way to reset computer and fixes a lot of things back to default mode. Try it and let me know. Mike

IT'S VERY EASY TO RESET THE TRANSMISSION'S COMPUTER. HOLD GAS PEDAL DOWN. TURN THE KEY TO THE NUMBER TWO. CONTINUE TO HOLD THE GAS PEDAL DOWN FOR THIRTY SECONDS.RELEASE THE GAS PEDAL AND PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL FOR TEN SECONDS. NOW YOU CAN TURN THE VEHICLE ON. THAT SHOULD TAKE IT OUT OF SAFE MODE

Just had the battery replaced. The 2001 BMW X5 brake and abs lights are on. Is this a Battery problem, fuse or what?

This sounds like a low-brake-fluid-pressure symptom. Check brake fluid. Next check for leaks.

More info?, let me know...
