The JB fuse under the hood is the power supply for the fuse box inside of the vehicle, if the battery drain goes away when JB fuse is removed is only because you have isolated the interior from the rest of the vehicle. These vehicles have issues with the body harness connector on the drivers side floor. To access the connector remove the rear seat and pull back the carpet, the connector is located directly below the drivers side rear seat bottom. Unscrew the 10mm bolt that holds the connector halves together and inspect for corrosion. If corrosion is present, repair as needed and your battery drain should go away.

    I do have the same problem with my Cherokee. I have checked the leeft side of the car but the only thing I find is a cable loom in a gutter but No connector.

IGNITION-OFF DRAW TEST The term Ignition-Off Draw (IOD) identifies a normal condition where power is being drained from the battery with the ignition switch in the Off position. A normal vehicle electrical system will draw from five to thirty-five milliamperes (0.005 to 0.035 ampere) with the ignition switch in the Off position, and all non-ignition controlled circuits in proper working order. Up to thirty-five milliamperes are needed to enable the memory functions for the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), digital clock, electronically tuned radio, and other modules which may vary with the vehicle equipment.
A vehicle that has not been operated for approximately twenty days, may discharge the battery to an inadequate level. When a vehicle will not be used for twenty days or more (stored), remove the IOD fuse from the Junction Block (JB). This will reduce battery discharging.
Excessive IOD can be caused by:

  1. Electrical items left on.
  2. Inoperative or improperly adjusted switches.
  3. Inoperative or shorted electronic modules and components.
  4. An internally shorted generator.
  5. Intermittent shorts in the wiring.
If the IOD is over thirty-five milliamperes, the problem must be found and corrected before replacing a battery. In most cases, the battery can be charged and returned to service after the excessive IOD condition has been corrected.
1. Verify that all electrical accessories are off. Turn off all lamps, remove the ignition key, and close all doors. If the vehicle is equipped with an illuminated entry system or an electronically tuned radio, allow the electronic timer function of these systems to automatically shut off (time out). This may take up to three minutes. See the Electronic Module Ignition-Off Draw Table for more information.

Determine that the underhood lamp is operating properly, then disconnect the lamp wire harness connector or remove the lamp bulb. 3. Disconnect the battery negative cable. 4. Set an electronic digital multi-meter to its highest amperage scale. Connect the multi-meter between the disconnected battery negative cable terminal clamp and the battery negative terminal post. Make sure that the doors remain closed so that the illuminated entry system is not activated. The multi-meter amperage reading may remain high for up to three minutes, or may not give any reading at all while set in the highest amperage scale, depending upon the electrical equipment in the vehicle. The multi-meter leads must be securely clamped to the battery negative cable terminal clamp and the battery negative terminal post. If continuity between the battery negative terminal post and the negative cable terminal clamp is lost during any part of the IOD test, the electronic timer function will be activated and all of the tests will have to be repeated. 5. After about three minutes, the high-amperage IOD reading on the multi-meter should become very low or nonexistent, depending upon the electrical equipment in the vehicle. If the amperage reading remains high, remove and replace each fuse in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) , one at a time until the amperage reading becomes very low, or nonexistent. (Refer to 04 - Vehicle Quick Reference/Fuse Locations and Types - Specifications) for the appropriate wiring information for complete PDC and TIPM fuse, circuit breaker, and circuit identification. This will isolate each circuit and identify the circuit that is the source of the high-amperage IOD. If the amperage reading remains high after removing and replacing each fuse and circuit breaker, disconnect the wire harness from the generator. If the amperage reading now becomes very low or nonexistent, diagnose and repair the Charging System as necessary. After the high-amperage IOD has been corrected, switch the multi-meter to progressively lower amperage scales and, if necessary, repeat the fuse and circuit breaker remove-and-replace process to identify and correct all sources of excessive IOD. It is now safe to select the lowest milliampere scale of the multi-meter to check the low-amperage IOD.
CAUTION: Do not open any doors, or turn on any electrical accessories with the lowest milliampere scale selected, or the multi-meter may be damaged.

6. Observe the multi-meter reading. The low-amperage IOD should not exceed thirty-five milliamperes (0.035 ampere). If the current draw exceeds thirty-five milliamperes, isolate each circuit using the fuse and circuit breaker remove-and-replace process in Step #5 . The multi-meter reading will drop to within the acceptable limit when the source of the excessive current draw is disconnected. Repair this circuit as required; whether a wiring short, incorrect switch adjustment, or an inoperative component is the cause.

What ? jb power fuse ? Why don't you say what jb is ? I'm assuming you mean junction box . Were not mind readers ! Regardless you have a parasitic draw on one of the circuits in the junction box , Hook up a amp meter between the negative battery post an negative battery cable . Shouldn't have more then 50 milliamp draw . Pull the fuse's one at a time till the drain goes away . Look at a wiring diagram for that circuit to see what all is on it . isolate an fix . Battery drain, fuse #12 in 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

On the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee the # 15 fuse is the IOD circuit. (Ignition Off Drain) The # 12 fuse is the power windows. Both fuses are 50 amp.

This IOD fuse #15 powers the distribution box that contains the 50 amp fuse. Pull each fuse in the under hood.

Pull each fuse in the under dash. Check for on the passenger side floor is an additional fuse panel.

Before going to far suggest at night checking for any lights lit. The draw is about right for a small light bulb.

Typical draw for parked car is around 100 milliamps

Suggest that you disconnect power to the car for several minutes. Reconnect the battery. The object is to reset the body electronics module.

If the computers in the modules get a glitch they can cause a drain. By cycling the power, disconnecting battery, they will reset to factory settings. Reported it can take up to 20 minutes for the circuits to drain before you can reset!.

the following web site does a great job of explaining all that is going on. What appears to be simple to troubleshoot is not so easy. He comments about delay before sleep are important. Testing after overnight may result in a different drain rate. Make sure that your battery meets specifications. In 2000 the drain rate may be relatively high and the reserve capacity of your battery low.

which one, ???
cig or power outlets. there are 3. of them 2 front 1 rear.
the number is
fuse 26 runs cig relay. main feed
fuse 29 runs cig relay coil.
both are in the JB, junction box.
power outlet rear is fuse 27 PDC
power outlet front is fuse 9 JB.

f5 is only memory so fuse 30 is blown, why not test all fuses, keyon, 12v on both sides, and forget books. this works.

What is wrong when I pull JB Power #15 50 amp fuse the drain g

2003 jeep GC, or WJ jeep, it is..?
there are no 50a fuses in any JB,
there are just 4 in the PDC. engine bay.
so, JB is wrong, input to me.
ill assume F15 is correct, and not F3/7/12 in PDC
F15 feeds JB via a pink wire. (pk-wt)
this main F15 feed JB , F5,7,8,9 fuse in cab.

so pull fuse 5 to 9 there and the one that ends the drain
is the load that is leaking, (phantom drains)
easy, huh, just 4 fuse to pull.
Cab box, only. called JB on all jeeps.
jb fuse 5 is radio.
jb fuse 7 is HVAC zone control (heat?) skim mod. & auto head lamp sensor & BCM memory, (yes lots)
jb fuse 8 is (12 courtesy lamps , intrusion module(export) and VICS, vehicle info center(memory)
jb fuse 9, front12vdc power outlets (cig ports modern) Cell Phone arked there?

2003 jeep sports liberty door locks clicking draining battery

AAA guys dont fix car, they rescue them....
the door lock system is broken
you have 2 choices. may be 3
  1. Take it to any ASE mech, and he fixes,it.
  2. Get the FSM from JEEP open the page on DOORS, and do the tests shown there.
  3. Using SAME FSM defeat the DOOR system. using keys.
#3 may just be a fuse pull, ill look that up now for you. ....lets see...

what id do.
id check all fuse first for blown, with an ohmmeter, 0=good, infinity = bad.
then id pull all the door relays. in the main junction box.
is the battery drain gone (i use and ammeter to find that truth)
THE BCM (body control module ) runs the locks, so you can just
pull its fuses.. or other things die.

keep in mind that door locks are alive , keys in pocket.
so that begs the question, is the BCM messing up (or relays stuck)
or is the BCM being told to open a door, full time ?
id connect any scan tool to the OBD2 conn. and see if there are fault codes. (like relay stuck door, etc)
stuck switch for doors."called door lock switch mux" by Jeep.
The BCM has many relay that it controls, pull them all and see
which one is causing the DRAIN, key off
and work backwards from there.
the BCM has RKE data line, this is the remote key receiver.
if it goes nuts it might seen door commands to the BCM full time.
so unplug it, to see if the commands end.
its called the RKEM (m for module)

the problem focus is the BCM is the brain that runs it all.
it has inputs and outputs.
the brain (processor) can have a bad input (switch or RKE)
or the output can stick (prime target door relays)
that is it .
i cant find the JB B+ hot feed, drawing, there are over 50 pages on this JB. a real FSM would win here. to find the door power actual feed .
such is life, in newer complex cars....

There are two fuse panels (Power Distribution Center (PDC) and Junction Box (JB)). The PDC is located under the hood at the right fender next to the battery, and the JB is located on the left side of the dash at the knee panel behind a door panel.
