Door handle The inside door handle on my 2002 Hyundai Elantra does not work. I can open it from the outside with the remote, but when I am inside the car, the inside door handle will not open using the remote or manually. I am trying to find out how to get information on fixing the door handle.

Their is a rod that runs from inside handle to a lever that pulls up on the latch mechanism. The outside handle has a rod that runs to the same place, what I have seen is the rod running from lever to mechanism come loose at the mechanism and neither handle will work.

You will need to remove the inside door panel, what that takes I don't know, but it must come off to access the door latch, there you will likely find the latch release control rod has come off or the latch is defective.

remove the interior door trim and you will see small nuts holding the handle onto the outer door skin. Remove any rods /clips and undo the nuts and the handle will come out.

check your battery in key

the wire from the interior handle and the door opening mechanism has come off the clip(its plastic)you will need to remove the interior door panel to fix it (easy job,you can see it )

Adjusting the handbrake is easy.Between the two front seats where the cup holders are behind there is a cubby hole.This has a bottom which can be easily prised out.You will see the handbrake adjusters which you just need to tighten.
