My Land Rover Discovery Will non come out of Park What could be some of the causes.

First check that the brake lamps work, if they do not , check the fuses , the switch and wires to it at the brake pedal. The transmission shift lock is controlled by a brake switch. Hope that helps

if it is an auto there is a dipstick with a red top in the left had rear of engine compartment( on a righthand drive model) which will tell you the level the warning lights are on almost permenantly on most discos they are nortorious for reading the wrong temperature I bet theres nothing wrong with the tranny temp just a dodgy sender if you want to drain the oils there is a drain plug under gearbox and a level plug on the side it is easier to fill from dipstick until fluid comes out level plug

Transfer case oil change- 1999 Land Rover Discovery II

No need for a diagram, to drain the oil, there's a drain plug on the bottom of the transfer box, under the handbrake drum. To fill, the fill plug is about in line with the centre of the handbrake drum and to the left. I think both plugs are 1/2" square. Fill to overflow with Texaco Multi-Gear 75W/90R. Takes about 2L or so.
