I have a 2004 GMC Envoy, I drive home last night park ,come back this morning shift lever will move freely but not out of park. Could this be a pin bushing?

It definitely sounds like you have a bad shifter cable. Not a very expensive part, but can be a pain to get changed.

Abs light on wont shift out of park

Hi Judy , what kind of vehicle do you have ? Year an model ? ABS light has nothing to do with it not coming out of park . Problem with automatic transmission shift lock control ! Probably !
The automatic transmission shift lock control is a safety device that prevents an inadvertent shift out of PARK when the ignition is ON. The driver must press the brake pedal before moving the shift lever out of the PARK position. The system consists of the following components:
?€¢
The automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid.

?€¢
The automatic transmission shift lock control switch.

?€¢
The park/neutral safety switch.

With the ignition in the ON position, battery positive voltage is supplied to the automatic transmission shift lock control switch. The circuit continues through the normally-closed switch to the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid. The park/neutral safety switch provides a path to ground for the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid in the PARK position. This energizes the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid, mechanically locking the shift linkage in the PARK position. When the driver presses the brake pedal the contacts in the automatic transmission shift lock control switch open, causing the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid to de-energize. This allows the shift lever to move from the PARK position. When the shift lever is out of the PARK position the contacts in the neutral safety switch open and the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid is de-energized.

Jeep won't shift out of second starts in second unless manually shift second is highest bit will go

Check the nuetral safety switch sound like to me you may have problems with this a vehicle should only start in park or nuetral if it starts in any other gear you may need to adjust the safety nuetral switch.

My jeep wont start!

MOST LIKELY YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE NUETRAL SAFETY SWITCH IT IS THE MOST COMMON CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM, IT IS LOCATED ON THE TRANSMISSION CASE UNDER THE ARM THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE ATTACHES TO, SEE PHOTO BELOW.

STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # NS113T [NUETRAL SAFETY SWITCH]

The van will not start but without the key on the auto relay is buzzing. the van did start once but cut off. it only started after jamming the shift lever up into the park position.

Sounds like the safety nuetral switch its located on the trans mission and will only allow the vehicle to be started in park or nuetral position but if its gone bad or out of adjustment your vehicle will never start. Look under the hood on the top of the transmission assuming its front wheel drive where the shift linkage attatches to the transmission there will be an electronic part there with a wire connector that should be the one. I f its rear wheel drive then its under the vehicle generally on the drivers side of the tronamission.
