I have a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire. The running lights, not the daytime running lights, but the actual running lights ex. back lights, side lights, and fog lights, wont shut off. We tried everything we could think of and they wont shut off. Any ideas on how to fix this? We had to disconnect the battery before it got run down,

Seems like you might have a relay stuck (burned together).

SOURCE: car starts run's 3 seconds shuts down

Your car is equipped with a system called PASSKEY standard on all GM cars and light trucks, try the following procedure to reset the system, the battery being dead will trigger the system.

PASSKEY LOCKOUT RESET GM CARS 1999 UP
1) Put the key in the ignition and turn to the "ON" position. Leave it that way for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes turn the key and take it out. Repeat this process (2) more times (3 times, 30 minutes total) This should reset the passlock system to recognize your key.

My daytime running lights work, high beams will come on but switch wont stay on, have to hold it. Low beams do not work and daytime running light dash indicator stays on all the time. Is it a relay or...

if you have to hold the switch so the high beams stay on then that indicates a bad/worn switch, you could have 2 problems the day time running light relay may have a problem with it.i would first replace the headlight switch at the base of the steering colume as by the info you supply its not changing to the high beam side without holding the switch in position.

2005 sunfire.. service light stays on and when you start the car it makes a clicking sound and the headlights flicker off and on. They should stay on but don't unless you actually turn them on.

the daytime runnig lights are inoperative, could be the module, relay or a bulb, usually bad wiring, go to cavalier daytime running lights on the web,, there you will get diagnosis directions

Headlight switch on but no head lights no fuses blown on a 1996 Pontiac sunfire

that can be so much fun, remove the headlights, and check for voltage at the sockets, also check the grounds, go back to the left side of the car and find the harness connector and check for voltag there , next step is the headlight switch, from there the dimmer switch, if it has daytime running lights, go to cavalier drl repairs, qhite often its a bad contact or broken wiring inside the insulation, so have a continuity tester on hand

First check all your bulbs.
Second if the bulbs are good, it might be the relay for the DRL or the headlight switch itself.
